Chapter Six | Threats
I woke up at 6:30. Okay, time for breakfast, I thought. I went downstairs and poured myself a bowl of Cheerios. I ate and went upstairs to get ready for school. I wore jeans and a school sweatshirt, nothing special really. Then I decided to head off for school.
I was about to head out the door when I heard a small little voice advising me not to, "Cat, where are you going? It's Saturday." I turned around to see who it was, even though I already knew. It was my little sister Abby. She was the only one who called me Cat.
"What? But I swear it was Tuesday." I said back to my sister.
"Nope! It's Saturday!" my sister said, sound all happy and cheery.
"Okay," I said as I dropped my backpack on the floor and started to walk upstairs.
"Hehe..." my little sister grinned quietly.
"Wait, the calendar says it's Tuesday," I said, before I quickly realized what my sister did. "Abby!" I screamed.
My little sister giggled and ran away.
That little brat, I thought. I picked up my backpack, and ran out the door. I'll get her back when I get home. I thought.
Sadly, I had missed the bus. Actually, that's better than I thought, because I hate taking the bus. I thought. I walked to school instead, even though it started to sprinkle, and then that sprinkling turned into heavy rain.
I love the rain, I thought to myself.
(And to think, I'm writing this on a rainy day)
I walked into the school, practically soaked, and water was sloshing in my shoes. I had kids looking in my direction, as I kept walking with sloshing shoes. I heard someone whisper, "Poor girl, why didn't she just take the bus?"
I missed the bus, stupid.
I walked to my locker, and noticed that there was a note inside once I opened it. It said, "I'm watching you." I ignored it, and closed my locker. But once I closed it, I saw him. Or her.
The person in the black hoodie.
I really couldn't believe my eyes. Was someone watching me? I rubbed my eyes to see if I was really seeing what I was seeing. Once I took my hands off my eyes, he/she was gone. Either I'm imagining things, or this guy/girl is a really fast runner.
Funny though, I didn't hear any footsteps.
The bell rang, so I guess it was time to go to first period. Yay...😒
I saw another note on my desk, saying, "I'm coming for you." No black hoodie girl/guy in sight though. I sat down.
My teacher said loudly, "Okay class, let's begin," which almost made me jump out of my seat.
Then my teacher said, "Okay class, pass your homework foward." That made my heart drop down to my stomach.
Then my teacher said, "Oh, and by the way class, we're having a pop quiz today." I almost fainted.
After failing a pop quiz and almost fainting in class, the bell rang, and it was time for me to go to second period.
I was walking, and I felt a hand on my back. I yelped, and almost everyone in the hallways stared at me. But when I looked back, all I saw was a bunch of guys pointing and laughing at me, but I just kept walking. Everyone I walked past just kept laughing and staring. I noticed there was something on my back. It was a note, and I took it off my back.
The note said: I will make your life a living nightmare.
That was weird though, because if it said that, shouldn't people be concerned and wondering, not grinning and laughing? But there was a smaller post-it note, with an ugly drawing of a monster, with an arrow pointing to it, saying, "Ugly Catherine."
So that's what they were laughing about. Haha, very funny, blockheads.
[Time skip to end of school day]
I ran out of the classroom, trying to avoid any students coming up to me, calling me, "Ugly Catherine."
I also ran home, to avoid any more encounters of black hoodie guys/girls.
