CH 12- A date with Ky???

Kate's POV
It was that next morning. We had a week off from the tournament. I got dressed into some shorts and a white tank with a flower on it. Then I went down to Jack's room to see what he was going to do today. I walk up to his door and knock.
" Who's there?" Comes a voice from the other side of the door.
" Its Kate." I hear scrambling and then Jack opens the door. It looks like he just got up because his hair is a mess and he has P.J.s on.
" Hey." He says tiredly.
" Hey." I say as he steps back and I walk in.
" What's up?" He asks.
" I was just wandering what you are going to do today."
" I was going to go to the bowling ally with the guys. Do you want to come?"
" No." I don't want to go because ever since I came to the dojo the guys haven't really got any guy time.
" Ok."
" I'll see you later." I walk out of his room and go back to mine. I grab my phone and think of visiting my dad. The last time I was with Ky I put his number in my phone. I go to contacts and look for Ky's number when I get a call. Ky was calling me. I thought that it was something about dad again. So I answered.
" Hello." I said into the phone.
" Hi. I was wondering what you were doing today."
" Nothing really. The guys are out bowling and I thought about going to see father."
" Ok. I'm on the roof. Meet me there." I put down my phone and climbed out the window. I climbed the fire escape to the roof. Where I saw a shadow of a person. It was Ky he was wearing a green shirt with blue jeans. Which is weird because the only other time he didn't wear black, and instead wore that outfit, was our first date back when I thought every word my father said was true. I wondered what was going on.
" Hey, Ky." I said in a confused tone.
" Hey. Do you remember this outfit?"
" Yes. Whats going on?" I was so confused.
" Well Darkness as ordered me to company you to him and I thought I should wear regular clothes since we are walking through the city streets." He finished. We never walk through the streets when we're going to see father. We always use the rooftop route.
" Why are we going through the streets?"
" So we dont draw attention. A women saw us last time and now there's security everywhere." I was a little suspicious and was about to say something when he grabbed my hand and jumped down to the alley. We got out to the street and started walking.
" Why has my father asked for you to accompany me to him?"
" He didnt want you getting lost."
" I've lived with him for 16 years. How does he expect I'll get lost?"
" I'm just following orders."
" You are always following orders."
" Not always."
" Really? When have you not?"
" That night we went to the lake."
" Oh yeah. I remember that night. It was the time when we started dating. I was angry at you because you would never stand up to dad and tell him you liked me."
" Yeah. You were so mad that you wouldnt speak to me. And your fathers one big rule was no going outside the dojos walls and I thought that taking you out would impress you and make up for everything."
" I was indeed impressed. You knocked at my window in the middle of the night. When i went to open the curtains i saw u hanging on to the ledge of the window."
" I thought you wouldnt come and it was freezing out there."
" But i did and you motioned for me to open the window so i did. Do you remember your exact words?"
" Yes. I said 'You wouldn't believe i could brake any rules so here i am.'"
" I was shocked and amazed. You then took my hand and lead me out to the lake where you had a picnic waiting."
" That was the best night of my life."
" Then when we got back it was morning and dad caught us. You were so scared."
" I wasn't scared. I was terrified. Did you see the look in his eyes. I was sure he was going to kill me."
" But then he told you it was a test to see if you were worthy enough to go out with me. You were so relieved and thats when you asked me to be your girlfriend."
" Yeah. Those were good times." He said as soon as we got up to the old brick building that used to be my home. We walked in and i saw father in his chair.
" How are you, father?" I asked at once.
" Better than I was." He got up and walked toward me.
" Why are you up? You should be resting."
" Dont worry about me. How long do you have?"
" Till ten." I had plans later tonight with the guys to go to the Le Grand Véfour.
" I want you to go to the lake with Ky and after alittle bit bring back some drinking water."
" I can go alone." I said.
" No. You will go with Ky. Thats an order."
" You cant tell me what to do anymore." I felt anger rise inside of me.
" You may not live with me but I am still your father."
" Now we're back to this! Its just like before. You can't survive without having control. Can you?"
" Listen Kari."
" Im not Kari anymore! My name is Kate."
" Kari was the name your mother gave you. So its the name I will call you."
" It's also the name you harmed me with!"
" I said sorry."
" You think that makes up for 16 years of harm you've done!"
" You need to stop being so sensitive."
" That's it come on Ky lets get the water so I can get far away from here." I stormed out the door with Ky at my heels. We arrived at the lake a little bit away from the old dojo. I went to the water and grabbed a bucket.
" I can't believe he still treats me like a child." I said at once.
" He's learning how to handle not being in control. Hey isnt this the place I took you the night we snuck out."
" Yeah. And if I remember correctly as soon as we got here we sat by the water and I did this." Then I reached down into the water and splashed him. I started laughing.
" And if I remember correctly then I did this." He reached down into the water.
" Don't you dare." Then he splashed me. He giggled then I grabbed the bucket and dumped the water on his head. I started laughing and he grabbed the bucket and filled it up. I took off running and he sat the bucket down and ran after me. He caught up and grabbed me from behind spinning me around. Then he let me go and I spun around. We were face to face. When it looked like he was leaning in I tapped he and took off running.
" You're it." He was dazed of a second then ran after me. After a few hours we were laying on the grass looking at the sky trying to see if we could tell what the clouds were shaped like. Soon the sky started to set and just like that I fell asleep beside the boy I never thought I would see again.
