" Maddie?" Grace called. " Grace!?" Maddie yelled back. Grace started running where she could hear Maddie. " We're coming!" Grace yelled. " This way!" Adam announced. Everyone turned left and saw Maddie. " Maddie!" Grace yelled. As they caught up. The ground started separating between Maddie and Grace. " what the heck?"
The speaker went off again.
" There is 21 hours left of the game. Good luck. Another note: Maddie, if you don't come back into this room, I will kill you and everyone of your friends. You have 10 minutes," the speaker cut off. Maddie began broke down in tears and could not stop. " I can't do this. Please help me!" She cried harder and harder. Grace called over to her, " Maddie, it's okay. I promise we'll find a way to help you," Grace calmed. " No, it's not okay, I am going to die whether I stay here or go," Maddie cried. " I'll go... For you...," she cried.
Maddie stood up and her sleeves were covered in tears. She ran back to the room. Katherine began to panic. " How are we going to get her back?" She asked. Grace shook her head. " I- I don't know if we can," after a few minutes, the speaker came on again.
" Welcome, to the game, where only one person will walk out of this maze. This is a game of survival. Don't sleep, eat, or make the wrong turn all leading to death or suffering. Good luck, you have 24 hours,"
Everyone was confused. But something popped into Katherine's head. " oh... My.... God..." Katherine said. " What?" Grace asked. " there's more people," Katherine said, " we have to go help them. They have no idea what's going on," everyone say in silence for a quick second. Adam disagreed. " it's one man for themselves, we don't know these people, they could get us killed," Adam said. Katherine stared at him and thought for a minute. " maybe you're right. But we should still go tell them what's happening and help them out a little bit,"
" cmon we'll do that," Grace committed. All of them started walking towards the entrance without getting hurt or separated. They started walking for a few minutes until they made it. " there they are," Katherine said. " you guys stay here, I'll go talk," Katherine said. " be careful," Adam said. Katherine walked up to the group of 5. " um, hello," she said. " who are you?" The man questioned. " my name is Katherine and I just want to help you," she said.
" we don't need your help miam, this is a mirror maze," the man said. Katherine shook her head. " didn't you hear the speaker?" She asked. He looked at Katherine as if she were dumb. " It's supposed to say that. This is meant to be a scary mirror maze. That's to scare us hun," He said. Katherine begged them to listen. " no, it's real. Two of our friends have already died," She said. The man shook his head no. " please get away from us," the man said. " Please listen, I don't want anyone else to die," she said. The man rolled his eyes and pushed Katherine away. " ridiculous," he said.
The man walked forward and a long blade flew down and his head flew off four feet from his neck. " Oh my god!" Katherine screamed. Her jaw dropped and the blood flew onto her face from the impaled man. " Dad!!!" The teenage girl screamed at the top of her lungs as she broke down in tears. " Run!" Katherine yelled to the four teenagers. All of them ran off with Adam and Grace.
Katherine stayed with the man's daughter who was in so much disbelief. " C'mon we have to go!" Katherine said, trying to stand her up. But she just cried and hugged her impaled father. " I'm sorry about your father, but we need to catch up with them. I don't want you hurt! Please!" Katherine pleaded. " I don't know you!" The girl cried. Another blade flew down. Katherine ducked down and ducked so did the girl. Katherine held the girls hand and they both ran. The little girl looked back at her father and continued to cry. " don't look back," Katherine said. They both caught up with the rest.
All of them sat down, out of breath. They all started to calm down except the daughter. Katherine hugged her. " I know how it feels...my dad died in the military two years ago," Katherine said. " God bless him," one of the other teenage girls said. Everybody say in silence for a little bit. The girl continued to cry and so for. " How old are you guys?" Grace asked, breaking the silence. The other teenagers responded, " we're all thirteen, what about you?" Grace took a deep breath. Grace was discouraged because of how young the teenagers were. " we're all 16," Grace said. " Names?" Grace asked. " I'm Nora, that's Marie, this is Jeremy and that's Lenny," Nora said.
