Mary slammed her locker shut causing my raging headache to set off again.
"Mary! Could you please," I whispered, trying not to make my head hurt more than it already did. "Not make any loud noises? I'm already going through hell." I massaged my temples, willing it to at least narrow down on the pain, but unfortunately not succeeding.
Mary only giggled a little and placed her hand on my shoulder. "Maybe you shouldn't have broken into your brother's secret stash of beer."
"I swear I didn't even drink! I mean I did drink one but that was more like a sip... oh why am I even explaining myself to you?" I relaxed a bit once she stopped with the teasing. At least one there would be one less thing causing me head aches.

Throughout the school day my headache had become small throbs which I could, thankfully, deal with. I still couldn't stand to hear the bickering between my friends while we sat at our usual table in the corner of the lunch room.
"You're clearly wrong Jayden! All that damn hairspray must be finally getting to your head if you actually believe that you are right!" Mary stood up and towered over him, placing her hands on her hips to finalize her actions. "Take that back this fucking instant you dutyhead!"
Alisha giggled at their inside joke that only we would understand, she brought a hand up to cover her obvious smile fighting its way through. Jayden clearly had no idea what he had gotten into as he decided to argue with the loudest one of our small group and he now showed it as he cowered back into his seat. If he had gone any lower I'm sure he would have fallen off, although that wouldn't have been such a terrible thing.
"I don't understand why its such a big deal to you? They're just a band!" Jayden shouted back, clearly regaining his confidence.
My eyes went wide as I heard the words that left his mouth, I looked around and found Alisha mirroring my actions. We knew all too well how this would end. We had both seen previous fights and Mary had always won each and every one of them, and this didn't seem to be any exception.
Mary's eyes held a new emotion unknown to us the way her eyes shone with such darkness worried me. What scared me further was how quiet she became, never once had she become calm while arguing about her passions. So when she simply grabbed Jayden's arms and dragged him out of the cafeteria I couldn't help but feel the need to get up and follow after them.
"Alisha!" I whispered harshly trying to get her attention. She just kept her eyes trained on Austin's actions, following his every move. "ALISHA!" I whispered a little bit louder yet she didn't look up. I finally gave up, knowing there was no way I was going to succeed in getting Alisha's eyes off of Austin.
With one last hesitation I shot up from my seat and walked to the last place I had seen the two arguing. I had never seen Mary this angry since the time she found out that her phone had deleted all her pictures or "memories" as she had put them.
I kept my head low listening for any signs of crying or shouting I ended up so caught up in trying to find Mary I forgot that I was in one of the most crowded places of the school. It was no surprise when someone sent me flying to the ground with their strong push. "HEY! Watch it!" I yelled to the culprit that was running away pushing more people as he went. I mentally cursed my small figure making it so easy for people to get away with moving me around.
I huffed as I stayed put on the floor, not quite ready to get up. I eventually had to get up , unfortunately, the warning bell blaring throughout the halls. I sighed grabbed by bag and headed to my last period.

"Class! May I have everyone's attention please? We have a new student who should be here any minute now actually," Mrs. Puhtuie was now standing in front of the classroom pretending to actually care for once. The amount of times we had spent just sitting around doing nothing was too many to count.
I drowned her out, humming to 'Cotton Eyed Joe' and silently cursing at Mary for getting it stuck in my head for the hundredth time. I fished out my phone and opened up the camera to take a silly picture to send to Mary, who looked lost in her train of thoughts.
The door opened and closed, revealing the new kid. The room went quiet, the only thing i could hear were the whispers and giggles from the girls sitting behind me. I grumbled under my breath, not amused by how easily a girl would be caught up in guy's looks. I continued to make disturbing, yet funny, faces at my phone not the bit interested in who the new kid was.
"And here he is! Would you mind telling the class your name, hun?" Mrs. Puhtuie's voice sounded too kind. She seemed to have grown a sudden endearment for the boy.
"Um, hello my name is Owen." I looked up and was met with the smile I knew all to well.
