"Bye you guys! Cya after school!" I said to Juliet, Sarah, and Vicky when the bell rang for fourth period. When I found the right classroom, I had only walked two steps before I was pulled in for a bear hug from the one and only, Bruce. "Hey Leah! I missed you! How was your summer? I wish we could have hung out more! I'm so excited that we have a class together! This is going to be so great!" Bruce exclaimed quickly, trying to fit in everything he wanted to say. "Haha hey Bruce! It's good to see you again!" I replied cheerfully while thinking back to the year before.
*Flashback*
"Here Leah take this." Bruce said and handed me a little note. Then he ran off. "Weird" I thought to myself while opening the note. It read:
"Leah,
I have liked you for a very long time now and I've finally gained enough courage to tell you. Just, not in person. I don't want things to be awkward between us but I had to tell you. I just have to ask you one question: Do you like me? Check Yes or No. Please stick this in my locker.
With all my love, Bruce."
"Oh my goodness! He liked me this whole time?! Where's the "Just as a friend box"? I don't like like him but I don't not like him." I thought to myself while I ran past his locker and started to look for him. "I'm going to have to do this in person." I thought.
*End of Flashback*
"Sorry Leah, I just really missed you." Bruce said to me as we took our seats. "It's okay. I missed you too." I said and smiled. "Hello class! Welcome to teacher aid. Please read through the papers that I am handing out. These will be your teachers that you will be helping." a teacher informed us. "Once you've read through your papers, you can head to that teacher's class. Good luck!" said the same teacher. "Who do you have?" asked Bruce as we walked down the hall to find our teachers. "I have Mr. Parker!" I replied excitedly. "He's my favorite" I added. "Lucky! I got Ms. Benion." he said a little glum. "Oh! She's so nice! She's my English teacher! You'll love her! Plus, she's in the room right next to Mr. Parker so we'll see each other all the time!" I replied happily. "Really?" Bruce asked, his tone a little lighter than before. "Yeah! Come on!" I said to him as we walked to our teachers.
