It was early in the morning, too early for James' liking. He's usually one to wake up at around noon. But when you have a wife who wakes up super early in the morning, it's kind of hard to sleep in.
He woke up to feel kisses all over his face and neck. He opened his eyes to get to get a good look at his wife who had a cheeky grin plastered on her face.
"Hey" Nadine said softly.
"Hi" he smiled.
"Natulog ka ba mahimbing?"
"Well, I was sleeping soundly until my wife woke me up with kisses" He chuckled.
"Oh, ayaw mo?" She questioned as she batted her eyelashes, "Okay then", turning her back to him.
He laughed and pulled at her shoulder, facing her toward him.
"Hey, of course gusto ko" he smiled. "Good morning, baby"
James began to lift her chin up to his, closing his eyes.
Instead they found himself kissing small little feet and heard a little giggle from under the covers. They immediately opened their eyes and laughed.
"Hmm. Baby, gutom ako. Actually, I think I'm starving... Ikaw?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, me too baby. I need to eat something now" He played along.
They both smiled, looked at the little pair of feet in front of them and began tickling and pretending to eat at their son's feet and little, skinny legs.
He started giggling uncontrollably and kicking until he crawled up to face his parents.
"Good morning, anak" Nadine grinned at her son, Timothy.
"Good morning, buddy" James added.
"Goodmorning mommy, daddy" he nodded at both of them and smiled. He then turned to his mom. "Mommy. May basketball tournament, today. Wag ka malimutan!"
Nadine raised an eyebrow.
"Ay! Ulit... Ulit. Wag ka malimutan... Pleeeaase?" Timothy said as he smiled widely.
She just rolled her eyes and laughed.
The 4 year old then turned over to face his dad, who had his elbow propped up, supporting his head.
"Dad! Tulungan mo ako mamaya ha? I need help practicing before the game!" Timothy exclaimed.
James looked over to Nadine and shook his head as he smirked while only halfway paying attention to his son babble on about his little league basketball team. James was mostly paying attention to his beautiful wife who gave him this wonderful, slightly bossy, son of his. God, she was such a blessing to his life and he knew it.
"Daddy! You're not paying attention!" Timothy shook James' shoulders with his little hands.
"Hmm, yes, baby, I'm listening" he said, snapping out of his daze.
"No, you're not! Hmph. Nevermind, mamaya na lang. C'mon kumain tayo! Gutom ako" Timothy said, jumping off the bed.
James and Nadine watched as he marched out of their bedroom.
"When did our son become so demanding?" Nadine chuckled.
"Kasalanan mo kasi" James replied, "He gets it from you"
"Hey, I'm not demanding! Now, get up tsaka go cook breakfast" she commanded.
James widened his eyes and gave her a 'see?!' expression.
"Okay, maybe I'm a little bit demanding"
"Little bit ka dyan" he rolled his eyes and smirked.
"Hoy!" Nadine propped herself up to level her face to his. "You chose to marry me though!" She said with a little sass in her voice.
James just wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer, which made her smile. He dipped his head to give her a kiss that he's been wanting to give her all morning.
"Yes, I did. And I don't regret it one bit"
