"Is it a sin to love?" was a thought that had never crossed my mind until the day I met this girl. She was small, skinny, with blonde hair and big brown eyes. She was always hiding and she was always angry. One day I asked her why she was so angry and she replied in a whisper, "Because it keeps me safe."I was confused until I looked and saw a moment of pure sadness in her eyes, but she blinked and it was gone. Now she was really angry and shoved me out of her way. As the day's went on I noticed that she did have one friend. She only got to see that friend during lunch.
Anyways I started watching over her. She was so small, she just fascinated me. I started to say good morning to her and slowly she warmed up to me. It took her a whole 2 years for her to become completely relaxed around me. Thinking back on it, I wonder what made me become friends with her? I don't regret becoming friends with her, but something feels odd about why I started talking to her.
So the other day we were messing around (The girl, her friend and I) and I picked her up and put her in the tree behind me. She got so angry, I started laughing. After she threaten me some I got her down. Her friend (Lizzy) begged me to put her in the tree next after she stopped laughing. I did and Lizzy climbed all the way to the top. I was impressed. Not many girls at our school climb trees. During lunch we were always hanging out by that tree. It was sorta our spot.
The trio of us had tons of fun as we grew older. We all went on group dates, we went to the beach, we played games, we raced each other. I had other friends, sure. But hanging out with those two was more fun somehow. I really enjoy watching Ellie's face light up on our little trips to the beach.
