Chapter Seven |Face to Face

When I got home, I slammed the door behind me, and looked through the peephole to make sure there weren't any black hoodied guys/girls in sight. Nope. Thank God.

I turned around, and my mother was standing right in front of me. I nearly jumped at the sight of her.

"Are you going to do your homework now?" she said, intimidating me.

"Y-Yes." I stuttered.

"Good." she said.

I wasn't even thinking about homework until my mother decided to scare the heck out of me. So I ran upstairs to do my homework.

I actually did finish. At 8:00. My mother called me down for dinner. Today was macaroni and cheese. Yum, I guess, I don't really care what's for dinner.

I sat down at the table, my little sister Abby, my mother, and I all held hands and said grace. (My mother is very religious.)

"Did you finish your homework, Catherine?" said my mother.

"Yes!" I groaned and rolled my eyes.

"Don't ever use that kind of attitude with me, young lady!" my mother raised her voice a little.

"Uh Oh, Cat is in trouble." said my little sister Abby, sitting and playing with her food in her high chair.

I just rolled my eyes.

"Do you want to be grounded, Catherine?" said my mother, raising her voice a little more.

"I'd prefer not to," I said.

"Okay, then stop acting like you're too good for everyone else." she said.

After dinner, I went upstairs to listen to some music. I don't even think my mom cares about the kind of music I listen to, so I actually listen to songs with those albums that say "Parental Advisory" on it.

After listening to music, I fell asleep around 11:00.

The Next Morning

I woke up, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth, did the usual things I do every morning.

When I walked out of the door, I noticed it was raining again. Boy, do I love the rain, I thought.

My mom told me specifically to take bus this time, because the school called saying that I came to school "soaked", and that they would advise me to take the bus.

I honestly didn't even know they called for that stuff. I liked walking to school, and it honestly gives me time to think that much. You can't think in a smelly bus where the kid next to you is usually smelling worse.

I waited at the bus stop for about 5 minutes, before it arrived. I climbed into the bus.

Like I said, very hard to think in there. There was a stupid kid sitting right next to me, picking his nose.

Eww, gross.

[After the bus ride]

I walked into the school, and of course, people were picking on me.

"Eww, look! It's Ugly Catherine!" a random guy said and pointed at me.

I just kept walking.

"Eww, It's Ugly Catherine! Someone get her and her ugly pants away from me!" a random girl said.

I could understand that, sweatpants weren't exactly a new trend.

[Time skip to after school]

The second the final bell rang, I sprinted out of the classroom. I couldn't take any more insults. I'm done with being "Ugly Catherine."

After finally getting out of that dreadful school, I pulled out some money from my pocket, and decided to go to the 7-11 across the street.

After buying some chips, I walked out of 7-11, I saw someone that I certainly did not want to see today.

The guy/girl in the black hoodie.

I couldn't take it anymore. My blood was boiling. I wasn't going to take it anymore. I wasn't going to let them scare me, intimidate me.

I ran across the street. Then I stood in front of them and said, "What is your problem? You stalker, you creep! Stop trying to scare me, because it isn't going to work, you creep!"

Then they did something I really should've seen coming.

(Are you ready for this?)

He/She grabbed my neck, with both hands, and started to strangle me, really hard. They had such big hands.
I wanted to scream, but I couldn't.

I thought I was going to die. I really thought I was going to die.

A guy saw me, and started running towards me. "Get off of her!"

He grabbed him/her, threw them on the ground, and kicked them in the stomach. They ran away.

"Are you okay?" the guy said. He had black hair, and the most blue eyes I've ever seen.

"Yes. Thank you, you saved my life." I replied, almost out of breath.

"It's no problem." he said and walked away.

I didn't even catch his name...
