It's been a while of walking in the woods. It's dark and cold and I'm tired. I hear a rustling near the bushes. Instantly my eyes go wide and my heart pace quickens. I dash off because it's probably a demon.
I run and run until I come to an open area. Tall trees surround where I am and there's multiple trails leading out into the trees. It's a training sight. A training sight is where the Forgotten come out to practice their magic and their fighting skills.
"Who are you?" A girls voice calls from a distance. "Why are you here?"
I whip my head around to try and see where she is. "Um...I'm lost. I don't mean any harm."
"Yeah," the girl comes out of the trees then dashes insanely fast toward me. She has the ability of super-speed. "A lot of people say that."
"I'm telling the truth I promise," not the full truth, it's true I don't mean harm but I'm not lost, I have a map.
The girl pulls out a sword in one swift motion. She looks stunning with her long blond hair, fair skin and dark blue eyes. "You know, I have the ability to tell if people are lying?"
I take a small step back. "But I'm not lying."
She kicks me down to the ground and hovers the sword above my heart. "I won't stutter to kill you."
"Good to know," I lay both my palms flat on the ground getting ready to spring up.
"What's your name?" She sternly asks me.
If Jocelyn lied to me about my name, it was for a reason. I decide to hide my real name and instead I say "Bree Fray," I don't use Fairchild because that's the Royal Family's name and I don't want her to know that I'm the Princess of Colina.
"That's not the full truth," she rolls her eyes and laughs to her self.
I use that distraction to roll out from under the sword and jump up from the ground. The girl immediately focuses again and swings the sword at me. I duck and dodge the sword. I spin and then kick at her side making her stumble but not fall.
"You think you can beat me?" She super-speeds us to a tree then pins me toward the large oak tree. "I'm gonna ask you again, what's your name?"
"Tell me your name first."
She rolls her eyes in annoyance and anger. "Lacey Conard," she pauses. "Your turn."
"I told you, Bree Fray."
"Lair!" She punches me in the stomach hard and I gasp, that's going to leave a mark. "I believe your name is Bree, but why are you hiding your last name?"
"I'm-" I get cut off by a loud demon scream.
Lacey's eyes go wide and she gets off me. "Demons," she whispers.
My heart rate picks up. I've only encountered just one demon in my entire life when the demons invaded Colina. "Are they in packs?"
"Duh! It's still dark out." Lacey snaps.
The demon comes out from the trees behind us. We both turn around but Lacey steps up with her sword griped tightly in her hand. It stands six feet tall with seven rows of teeth, clawed hands and feet, and with black eyes.
I scream then turn around and run down a random trail. The wind is blowing through my light brown hair and stinging my hazel eyes. I can't see clearly because tears are starting to form and its dark. I look back then I bump into someone.
The impact causes the person to fall so then they turn around and grab my wrist. We land in water and now I really can't see. I open my mouth and water rushes in.
