Once in the forest it was happy and only good feelings danced in the wind and in the trees the birds sang beautifully. That's how my childhood was, it was beautiful. At home now though, it is the complete opposite...

"Polkin, get in here right now!"
I slump out of my warm bed to see what my mother could possibly want this time. "yes?" I said slouching as I walked out of my room, I found her quickly. Like all the other dwarfs in our village, we lived in a hollow tree.

"You were supposed to get up early to help with the labor." she said crossing her arms.
"Maybe I don't want to get up, like I do every year around this time, and do the same thing." She looked at me and I could see her anger, that she was trying very hard to hold back. "It's been this way for a very long time now and you have to continue to deal with doing the labor like we all do" she said walking out of our home.

She was wrong. I can leave one day, I can change my life, but when...
