Chapter One

☺☺☺ Aria’s POV ☺☺☺

I woke up with a jolt as the plane touched the earth after a seven hour flight straight from New York.  I looked to my right and out the window, patches of dark green and lime whizzed by my sight.

To my right was a sleeping Avery.  She was snoring, as usual.  She slept through everything, even the turbulence.  I was surprised she didn’t wake up when the plane shook.  It sure scared Eve, who was behind us next to Jess.

I sighed and smiled as the plane started to slow down, and Avery finally woke up.  I poked her.

“Finally you’re awake.  You were asleep this whole time!”  I laughed, as she yawned and stretched.

“I was busy packing right before we left!”  She defended herself, but that was all on her.  She was the one who wanted to pack last minute.

Our plane attached to the port, and people started getting up.  I couldn’t wait to get out and see England.  I really wanted to go sightseeing in London after we dropped off our bags at our hotel.  But first we needed to meet our family.

We picked up our bags and got off the plane with the rush of people.  We stayed close together and walked to the baggage claim, watching all the other people pick up their bags and leave.  After we got our suitcases, we walked out of the airport arm in arm.  I’m so glad I had a GPS on my phone, because if I didn’t we would totally be lost.  We looked up at the Wolverhampton sky, and saw no skyscrapers.  It was nice to actually be able to see the sky for a change.

The air was clean and clear, unlike the smokey skies of New York. It was nice for once to actually be able to breath, I felt so free … until the lovely Avery just had to interrupt (note beautiful sarcasm).

“Dude, close your mouth, come back to earth then get in the cab.” Avery gestured towards the car.  I stuck my tongue out as I jumped in the slick black cab.  “Yeah, ‘get in the suspicious vehicle Aria, no one will try to kidnap you and make you end up like the girl from Taken.’”  I thought to myself.  I must have said it out loud because Avery smirked a reply, “At least we aren’t in a white van with candy.”

“Now where would you ladies like to go?” the cab driver kindly asked. “Barons Court Hotel; 142 Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton. please.” Jess squeaked as Avery and I bickered and Eve continued to stare at the scenery in awe.  The confident cab driver gave a hearty laugh as he listened to us insult each other like little kids.

“Don’t be such a meanie-butt!”

“I’m not being the meanie-butt, you are!”

“Nuh-uh!”  I huffed as  Avery stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry at me.  Gross.

“Haha you girls are cracking me up!  I’m Marcel, I drive cabs for a living.  What are your names?”  He glances at the mirror from the right and smiles as he drives away from the airport.

“I’m Avery, this is my annoying, dorky sister Aria,”  I punched her and she laughed at my strength.  I crossed my arms and she continued. “This is Jess, and this is Eve.”  Marcel held a thumbs up.

“You guys have cool names.  Where are you guys from?”  He continued to ask questions and I started to wonder if he was trying to start stalking us or something.

“We’re from New York!”  Eve said happily as she bounced in the passenger seat.  Marcel nodded, “Ah the big city.  This must be a big change for you guys.  What makes you come here?”

“Oh well it’s a long story…”  I said softly and Marcel looked back at us.

“Well it is a 20 minute drive to Barons,”  He stated matter-of-factly, “I think we have time.”  I sighed and slouched in my seat, as Avery began our story.

“And our aunt told us that our real parents live in Wolverhampton.  So that’s why we’re here.”

The brunette brushed back his gel filled hair, shiny but almost nerdy to match his high voice that was as cute as a button! “Well that’s a story! You should really write a novel and after make an auto-biography!” In a cheery yet knowing tone like he believed every single word.

“Oh! Here we are! Barons Court Hotel,” Marcel jump out of the cab opening the doors, he was as fast as lightning! Even though he looked like he could never play a sport. His magnificent everlasting green-blue eyes, that reminded me of Harry Styles’, shinned behind his thick nerdy rimmed glasses (Marcel is a hipster!) the last of the bags plopped onto the gold cage on wheels that bellhops use. “Well ladies,” he sighed “I bid you a farewell! I hope everything turns out wonderfully and I hope to see you again someday.” I handed him his well deserved money and waved him good bye, in-sync with the other girls.

After we checked in, we decided that we were all too tired to explore so we would rest till tomorrow then try to find our long lost family, even though we all wanted desperately to go and sightsee.

~ The Next Day ~

Knowing from experience waking up Avery is *pause for dramatic effect* A NIGHTMARE. It would be easier and a lot less painful to rise the dead, kidnap the president and fight a thousand ninjas all at the same time. NOTHING WORKS! We throw pillows, made loud sounds, splashed water on her, stole her blanket. Pillows don’t hurt, her body absorbs the water, and she likes the cold! So it came down to the carrots… We opened a fresh bag, she rose up like a zombie and she sang “BACK TO LIFE. BACK, BACK, BACK TO LIFE!”

“What the heck…  What… Even…”  Avery said after she saw the mess we’d made in the attempt to wake her up.  Water stained the carpet and feathers from the pillows were everywhere.

“I did NOT make those.”  She pointed at the water on the floor.  I rolled my eyes.

“Yeah you did!  You made us wake you up and that was one of the failed solutions!  We even tried playing Screamo!”  I said exhausted, flailing my arms.

“Idiot, you’ve known me your entire life!  Of course the only thing that wakes me up is carrots, you should’ve known that!  Now we have a mess to clean!”

“Well we could just call a maid…”  Eve whispered, trying to break the tension.  She held the open bag of carrots in front of her like a shield.  Avery just sighed.  With a flick of her wrist, the water that seeped into the carpet floor, rose and collected in the middle of the room.  After all of it was in a giant blob, it slowly descended to the sink and washed down the drain.

“Just get ready Avery, we’re leaving soon.”  I tossed the pillow that in my hand onto the bed, and opened the door.

“We’ll be waiting in the lobby Avery.”  I walked out as Jess and Eve trailed behind.
