Aden awoke with a slight feeling of serenity, but that changed as a blood curdling scream was released from outside. Aden hopped out of bed, suddenly, and stepped into her slippers. She ran to the front door, throwing it open in hopes to help. On her lawn, a girl lay with a man on top of her. His yellow teeth ripped into her neck, as the girl attempted to cry out. Her eyes pleaded for help. Aden had no idea what this was. She shouted at the man, trying desperately to get his attention. The man staggered up and looked Aden in the eyes. Only then, she realised that something was definitely wrong. His skin was rotted, and his stomach had been torn apart as if from an animal. Aden started panicking. The man limped towards her. She backed up against the wooden frame of the door. A loud shot was heard. The man froze before falling to the ground. A younger man, about twenty, walked slowly up to the girl, leaned down and put the barrel of the gun on her temple. He pulled the trigger and walked towards Aden.
"What is wrong with you?!" He scowled, "These things will rip you apart!"
"You k-killed that girl!" She cowered down from the man.
"Are you stupid?! She was going to turn!" Her rubbed his temples, "If you want to live, don't get bit and come with me."
"I-I don't even know what is going on," Aden looked at him fearfully.
"Don't make me change my mind," he growled. A big hoard of the undead monsters, about ten, came limping toward them. The man mutters a few barely audible curses before pushing the door open and pulling Aden inside.

"Look, these things are attracted to noise, so we have to be quiet," the man, now known as Asher, whispered, before barking orders, "Go find as much food, like cans, as you can." Aden only nodded in response. She went into the kitchen, and closed all the shutters. After, Aden found several canned goods and sat them on a counter. Asher staggered into the kitchen, smirking slightly. "By the way, you might wanna change, unless you plan on traveling in those."
"Oh.." Aden bit her lip, embrassed, then agreed, "You're right."

After, Aden got into her room, she quickly locked the door. She changed into a tank top with a red flannel shirt on top. She slipped on pants before returning to the living room. "Shouldn't we leave?" Aden questioned.
"Yeah I guess," he sighed, "I have another person you'll meet, she's my sister."
"Woah, you have a sister?!"

The duo left the house. They avoided any roads with two or more of the undead on it. Aden looked at the street signs, confused. "How come I've never saw you before?"
"I was home-schooled in highschool, and I don't get out much. Now can you shut up? The last thing we need is a hoard on us. Also, stop asking questions." Aden mumbled a soft sorry before being quiet. The two walk in silence the rest of the way. Soon, they stopped in front of a two story brick house. "This the place?" Aden questioned quietly.
"Yes," he rolled his eyes, and walked in.
A tall blonde girl walked towards them, "Who the hell is this?" She snarled and gazed at Aden.
"Calm down, Cam, she's just an idiot who didn't know what was going on,"
Cam's glance softened before hitting Asher in the arm, "Then again, who in there right mind does know what's going on?" She focused on Aden, "I'm Camille, but call me Cam," She held her hand out.
Aden cautiously took it in her own, "I-I'm Aden," She studied Cam. The first thing she noticed is that she had a long machete in a holster on her shoulder.
"We should probably get some sleep, we're leaving in the morning." Asher opened his mouth to argue, but closed it soon.
"I'll keep watch, go to bed." Asher muttered in defeat. Aden dropped the bag of knifes and cans.
"You sleep on the couch," Cam sighed. Aden nodded and walked to the couch. She laid down and evaporated into a dreamless sleep.
