Luke recognized Stephanie's scream and heard the gun shot. Luke stood up as fast as possible and started searching for Stephanie. " Stephanie!" He yelled as he ran down the mirror maze. There was no responses. As Luke ran down the maze, there was blood all over the mirrors and the floor. Luke kept walking and searching for Stephanie. " Stephanie? Katherine?" He yelled. As he followed the path of blood, Maddie saw him from a distance. " Luke?" Maddie called.
"Maddie?" Luke called. Maddie ran towards Luke. She ran and hugged him for a quick second. " You're okay..." Luke said in disbelief. " I thought I killed-" Luke said before being cut off. " It wasn't me," Maddie said with a smile. Luke hugged her back. After a minute Luke let go. " where's Katherine?" He questioned. Maddie backed up and looked at him in grief. " she-she's just gone," Maddie said. " Where's Steph?" Luke asked, looking around. " Follow me," Maddie said. Maddie ran down the maze to Stephanie. Luke followed.
" Stephanie!" Luke called. He ran over and sat next to her. He hugged her and tried to calm her. " Steph, it's gonna be alright. Okay. I promise," Stephanie continued to break down in tears. " Luke, I could've done something. And I didn't. The stupid gun. I should've took the stupid gun," Stephanie tried whipping her tears off with her sleeve but she couldn't stop. " hey, stop blaming it on yourself. You did the best you could. Trust me, now she doesn't have to suffer in this 'game.'" Luke hugged her. " Ow," Stephanie mumbled. Stephanie pulled the bottom of her pants up to her knee. Maddie looked at her leg. The skin had gotten worse. Whatever was in the fog was eating her skin down to her bone.
Luke rolled her pants back down. " don't look at that. It'll get better," he comforted. Stephanie slightly nodded. Grace, Adam, Nora, Marie, Lenny, and Jeremy all ran into the area with the rest. " Are you guys alright? Where's Katherine?" Grace interrogated. Maddie looked at grace and was speechless. " s-she's gone," Maddie whispered. " And it's all my fault," Stephanie cried. Luke shook his head. " no it's not," He said. Maddie looked over and saw the four teens. " Who are they?" Maddie questioned. " They're newbies. Just joining us for some fun!" Adam joked. Maddie fake smiled, " Nice one Adam," She said sarcastically.
Stephanie stood up. " here let me help you," Luke offered. " No. I don't need help," she said. Luke backed off and let her walk on her own. Stephanie began to trip over herself a few times. She looked out of it and her face was pale. " that fog really got to me guys. I'd stay away from me if I were you. I don't know if it spreads or not," Stephanie said. She was lousy and couldn't control herself. " She's gone insane," Maddie said, picking at her nails. Luke went over and picked her up. " What was she talking about with the fog?" Grace asked Luke. Luke got a better grip onto Stephanie. " Ah, there was a poisonous fog throughout the maze. She tripped and it started ripping her skin off," Luke said.
Grace nodded. " we'll find something to do about it," she said. " Can we stop now?" Maddie complained. " um, sure," Grace said. Nora looked down at her shadow. " Where's Katherine?" she asked quietly. Grace looked at her and began to make up theories to tell. " She escaped the mirror maze. She said she tried to get us all out but she couldn't," She lied. Nora bit her bottom lip. She hesitated to say anything. " Oh..."
The speaker came on. " There's 20 hours left of the game. Here's a tip: Run," it then turned off.
Stephanie stood up due to the loudness. Luke put her down. " W-what did it say?" Stephanie said holding on to her head. " Run," Maddie shouted. Grace grabbed Nora and Adams hand. Nora grabbed Marie's hand and Marie grabbed the two boys. All of them ran as fast as they could. Lenny felt something grab at his leg. Lenny began getting pulled back. Marie tightened her grip. " Lenny!" She yelled. Luke turned back and saw Lenny fall onto the ground. Marie was losing grip. Luke ran towards Lenny. He grabbed onto his arm and began pulling. Lenny started kicking his legs to get the thing off of him.
Lenny got pulled 10x harder and the person pulling brought Luke back too. " Crap!" He yelled. Maddie looked behind her and saw them being dragged. Maddie wanted to help so she began running towards them. " Maddie what are you doing!" Grace called. Maddie looked back. " Just keep running, I'll be back!" Grace hesitated. " Maddie, we just saved you and your going to go get yourself killed again?" She stamped. Maddie looked down. " Cmon... It's for Luke," she began running and following them.
But before she knew it she got tired out. The pulling was so fast, she couldn't catch up. " Oh my god," she started running again, out of breath.
Grace and the group kept running as fast as they could. " Is Lenny gonna be alright..?" Marie asked. Grace shook her head in confusion. " at this point, I don't know if any of us are going to be fine..." She cried. Marie's heart beat a little bit faster. She took a deep breath and tried to forget about it, but she couldn't.
Maddie finally caught up to them. the entire maze was pitch black. " Luke? Lenny?" She asked, searching for them. A light turned on. Both Luke and Lenny had ropes tied around their necks. " Oh my god..." Fear sprang up her spine and she was shivering. The speaker turned on. " Madison Shay, you must choose which one you want to be saved while the other opponent will be hung. You have five minutes or both will be hung," the voice went off.
Lenny bit his lip as tears began falling from his eyes. Luke pointed over to Lenny to try to save him. " I can't Luke," she cried. After three minutes passed she made her final decision. " I'm sorry Lenny," she cried. " I'm g-gonna save Luke," she balled her eyes out. The voice came back on. " Interesting choice," he said. In an instant second, the platform he was standing on broke and he sprung up into the air. " OH MY GOD," Maddie screamed. She ran over to Luke. She took untied the rope from his neck and hands. " Maddie don't look," he comforted.
" It's going to be alright," he said. Maddie balled her eyes out. " no it's not!" She cried even harder. " I killed him! I can't believe I killed him!" She screamed. The ropes came off. Luke was set free and he ran and hugged Maddie. They both fell to their knees. " hey it's going to be alright," he said. Maddie shook her head. She was shaking so unbearably. She snuffled her nose and enjoy the hug. After a couple of minutes, Luke and her both stood up. " Listen to me, you didn't kill him. None of this is on you. And whoever is up to this is gonna get their as* beaten,"
Maddie smiled and whipped the tears off her cheeks. Luke smiled back. " Alright, let's go find the others," He said. He began walking. Maddie grabbed his arm. " Wait," she said. She wrapped her arms around him and began making out with him hardcore.
