Hey, everybody! I hope you enjoy this story! I actually came up with the idea when I was just rambling on and on with my friend about a school project. That's why I am dedicating this chapter to her. She has a wattpad account, too. Her username is flgirl, and you should definitely check out her work!

Well, enough of my rambling! Here's the story, and I hope you like it! Please give me feedback!

Also, don't forget to vote, fan, and comment if you like it (or not I guess). <3

Some people believe that all things in life are purely by chance, others by one superior being who has everything planned out perfectly. Well, if there is one being controlling everything, he’s got one wicked sense of humor.

I stepped out of my car excitedly. It was my first day of my freshman year of high school, and I was pumped. Who wouldn’t be? Okay, I know the answer is “most people” but I, for one, love the idea of independence.

I made my way over to my new locker, schedule in hand. Suddenly, I felt the cold, metal lockers slammed into my side and heard a deep chuckle. “Watch where you’re going, Kaylie!” the jerk who shoved me teased.

“Go fall down a well, Luke,” I retorted. I had known Luke for eleven years. We had been best friends in preschool, but once people started dividing themselves into the “jock” and the “nerd” categories, I was deemed uncool, so he abandoned me. From then on, he and his “followers” had made it their job to make my life miserable.

“As long as you go first,” he smirked as he walked away. It was only the first five minutes of high school, and I was already his number-one target. Great. Just great.

The bell rang, and I was shoved into the lockers again as hundreds of bodies rushed to get to first period. I worked my way into the crowd and somehow managed to reach my English class before the second bell.

“Oh my god, Kaylie!” a high-pitched voice squealed from the back of the room.

“Lily!” I replied to my all-time best friend as I hurried over and sat in the seat next to hers. “Okay, compare schedules.” We held our schedules up next to each other and checked.

“Yay, we have English, obviously, history, Spanish, and math together!” Lily cheered.

“Yep, the only classes we don’t have together are art and science.” I smiled at her.

“Okay, class, settle down,” my English teacher, Mrs. Davis, quieted the class. And so began the first day of the four longest years of my life.

So that's the first chapter. I know it is kind of short, but I promise the chapters will typically be longer than this. What do you think? Should I keep writing this?
