I hopped in the cab and left for the restaurant to meet my blind date. It was my fifth date in two weeks since Rutt left for US. I wanted to move on. I wanted to believe there were guys better than Aman around but my main concern was how to find them. I know, it's silly, but a friend of mine convinced me to join a dating site. I had been pretty willing to meet guys myself, so I agreed. Well, there was no harm in trying.

All my dates would start with usual date chat and I would found myself losing interest quickly every time. This time around I had a feeling that it would be different and I was really looking forward to it. This guy and I emailed back and forth a few times, went on to the phone call, and everything seemed to be going well. Finally, we decided to meet at a local restaurant.

I was not new to this dating world. I dated my share of guys before meeting Aman. I still remember my first date with this sweet boy from college. It was awkward yet exciting. I was slight cold when we went to a nice restaurant, and while we were eating out meal, I sneezed and a huge booger bubble came out of my nose. It was awful, and it wouldn't go away. I jumped up as fast as I could and ran to the bathroom with my hands over my face. When I came back he was gone. I felt horrible.

And then there was another one with a scientist. He was intelligent but socially awkward but still I had a good time talking with him. After the date he insisted on dropping me off to my place. I was looking forward to kissing him, and had a feeling it was going to happen soon. Just as I was thinking about my dream scenario, he came up and kissed me with his mouth wider open and slobbered all over me. There was saliva everywhere. A second later I pushed him away gently and called it a night. I never saw him again.

The driver pulled over the car near the restaurant entrance area. I was nervous.

Wow, I'm walking into the restaurant to meet my first blind date ever! I must really like him.

I hoped he treats me well when I get over there just like he did when we chatted online. I hoped we hit it off. I wanted to make sure this goes well.

I'd better look as good and sexy as I can when I get over there... okay, good posture! Back straight, boobs out. That's it... whew, here I go!

It look a deep breath and entered the restaurant. I walked across the room scanning it for a guy in red jacket and blue denim, but he was nowhere to be found. So, I took a seat next to the door so that I can keep an eye on the street as I waited impatiently for my date to arrive. I ordered a beer to soothe my serves. As I waited for him, sipping the beer, I prayed that it wouldn't turn out to be like last time.

My last date was no less than a disaster. Firstly, I didn't recognize him when he came in. Not because he had changed his hair or was wearing a hat or something, but because the picture from his online profile was like 10 YEARS OLD. While I wasn't nearly as attracted to him as I was to his picture, it wasn't a deal breaker. He was nice; we made small talk while waiting for the server. The server arrived and took our orders. After that, he seemed distracted. I tried to make the best of it but it became clear he was more interested in the server than me. Awkward, to say the least, since the server was a man.

The seconds were ticking by. It had been 30 minutes and I was losing my patience waiting. I tried calling my blind date but his phone was switched off. I was so much looking forward to this date that it was hard for me to believe that he stood me up. I was obviously pissed off because I was sitting there looking like a fool waiting for someone who might not show up. I made up my mind to leave.

"Hi."

I looked up in excitement and saw a smiling face in front of me.

"Hi," I replied. My excitement faded away instantly when I found it was not my date but Dinesh.
