Chapter 1: Before the Dead

When Katlin was young she was always scavenge around for parts. She grew up in a very poor home. Normally there wasn't enough money for a big meal, but that was Katlins normal. She had always grown up that way. But a kid like that, with no money, and only wanted to invent things, she didn't have any friends. All she had was her brother,Phillip . They were best friends. Until their dad died. Phillip and Katlins dad were out on a job. They were asked to cut down Mr. Wong's tree. It was old big and dead. Phillip was 16 and Katlin was 9. Katlin was always very smart and very mature for her age, which made her fathers death all the lot worse. Jerry and Phillip were cutting down the tree and because of the chainsaw being so loud Phillip didn't hear Jerry scream for help. The tree fell on Jerry and he died.

Katlin had to watch this incident which traumatized her all the more. She was screaming to Phillip to help. Her father had gotten caught under the tree and almost every organ was crushed. But not his brain. His last words to his daughter were "I love you."

After the incident with Katlins dad, she was a lot quieter. Her brother and her relationship was never the same. Phillip never truly understood why Katlin was so traumatized. It wasn't that he wasn't sad about their father , but he didn't see it happen.
