Who Can She Trust?

Chapter One

Starting at a new school is hard, but what's harder is when the rumors beat you there.

"I heard she killed her boyfriend."

"I heard it was the math teacher"

"She has fangs and she eats people"

Let me just clarify...

My name is Rix.

I am 17,

A female,

And just moved to a new town. Again.

I got a reputation in my old town for being "Evil" and "Vampire"

All because of the popular kids.

So I got tired of it and embraced the bitchiness inside me.

These rumors have been floating around for a week now and it's only my first day. The first thing I hear is:

"OMG look its the freak!" 

"Stay away from her she'll eat you."

I got so pissed off I turned to the next person who said something about me and I snarled.

"Look at her fangs." A girl laughs.

"Are you a vampire or something?" A boy jokes.

"Why? Are you volunteering to be my dinner tonight?" I shoot back, the boy shrinking away slightly.

"Ewwww!" the girls friend cringes, "That's so gross! She actually drinks it!"

"See, I told you she was a monster." said the first girl, obviously the leader.

"It's true!" her friend steps back away from me. "I didn't believe it."

The boy and her friend walk away shuddering but trying to laugh it off leaving only the main girl.

"You get in my way and I will slaughter you bitch." She flipped her long blonde hair and walked away.

'Get in her way?' I say under my breath. 'What's that supposed to mean?'

"She means you're pretty even if you don't know it." A girl in all black approaches me, "I'm Alayla, but you can call me Kat. It's short for Kathryn, my middle name."

"Rix." I reply slowly.

"Coolness."

"I guess." I hesitate in answering, knowing the usual question will come up.

"Do you really have fangs?"

I groan. "Did I say something wrong?" Alayla asks. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

"It's fine. I'm used to it. Do you really want to see?"

"I really would!"

"Okay." I relent. I smile flashing my fangs.

"So cool!" She exclaims.

"I don't think so." I say quietly.

"Why not?" She sounded shocked.

"I have issues talking and eating and biting my lip or cheek. Also people don't understand and they view me as a monster." I explain.

"Oh. That sounds like it sucks. I think they look cool."

"It does suck." I sigh.

"You should eat lunch with me."

"I like to have lunch alone. Thanks anyway."

"Come on. Mike would love you." She whined.

"Mike?"

"Yeah! He's amazing!"

"But...."

"Just come on."

"Fine. Only for a minute though."

"Great!" She exclaims. "Meet me by the old oak right after the lunch bell!"

"Wait!" I call as she runs out of earshot. "I still don't know where my class is..." I mutter.

I go to sit down on the bench that was behind me and I run into a solid body instead.

I freeze hearing him chuckle. Then I bolt to my feet dropping my books. I bend picking them up with help of Him.

"Here you go" He hands me my books. I accept them without looking at him. I turn to rush off.

"Where you running off to?" I hear another male voice. Shit! There's two guys?!? What do they want?

Suddenly there's a hand around my arm pulling me back against one of them. I stop and slowly turn ending up face to face, or rather face to chest with a very muscular chest. I stare for a second.

"Up here" the voice calls, and I peek up into the bluest eyes I've ever seen.

I hear a chuckle to our side. "Getting some action are we Luke?."

"Shut up Books....." He looks at me apologetically. "I'm Lukas. That jackass was Brooker. You new here?"

"Yeah.. First day."

"What's your name?"

I shake my head knowing the rumors circulating about me.

They look at me curiously then Lukas smiles. "Well if you won't tell me your name i'll have to call you Raven."
