"Hey, d'you know he talks in his sleep?" Dec asked Lisa. The pair stood in front of the sofa and stared at the sleeping Geordie. They had just returned from an afternoon at the shops and found Ant in deep sleep on the sofa.
"Yeah, of course, I know that Doolittle." Lisa rolls her eyes. "I've slept over before."
"Oh, that reminds me. Can you two actually do more sleeping when you're over? Cause whenever you stay over to 'sleep,' I cannat get any shut-eye 'cause you two make a lot racket." Dec whined.
Lisa's cheeks were painted red from embarrassment and lightly slapped Dec on the arm.
"Aye pet, I'm just saying to quiet it down a bit," Dec laughed. "Anyway, back to what I was saying a while ago. D'you know you can have a conversation with him?"
"A conversation with him? While he's asleep?"
"Yep," Dec smiled smugly because he knew something about Ant that Lisa didn't know. "I've had some interesting conversations with him. Sometimes, when I'm homesick, I'd sneak into his bedroom and talk to him; that always made me feel better," he said, smile softening.
"That's sweet that Ant is able to make you happy even when he's asleep, but it's weird that you sneak into his room," Lisa said the last part teasingly.
"Shut up," Dec sheepishly laughed, nudging Lisa lightly with his shoulders. "Anyway, you wanna try it out?"
"Sure, but you start first."
"Alright, let's see." Dec tapped his chin as he thought of a question. He smirked when he thought of one. "Hey, Ant."
Ant shifted his position on the sofa, but not waking up and groaned in acknowledgement of Dec.
"Who's a better footie player: you or me?"
Ant sighs in his sleep. "I hate to admit it, but you."
Dec grinned and turned to Lisa. "Your turn."
"Okay Ant, do you flirt with other girls when you're on tour?"
"Really? That's what your asking him." Dec raised an eyebrow at Lisa.
"What? I'm just curious to what he'll say."
"He doesn't, you know. Your man is faithful, Lise," Dec says.
"Well, he better say 'no' then."
Ant moves around again before answering. "Nah, but Dec does."
"Doolittle!" Lisa slaps Dec again on the arm.
"Wow, after I defend him, he drops me like that. Unbelievable!" Dec shakes his head. "It's just a wink or two here and there, Lise. Just trying to keep the ladies happy, so they'll keep buying our records."
"That better be, Doolittle," Lisa eyed Dec. She tore her gaze away from Dec and onto her boyfriend. "I'm gonna ask him one more question," she tells Dec. "Ant, do you see us being in it for the long run?"
Dec could feel Lisa tense as she anticipated for Ant's answer, so he puts a comforting arm around her shoulders. He's a bit baffled that this beautiful woman cannot see how much her boyfriend loves her that she has to question him about it. So when she asked the question, Dec doesn't comment it like he did the first time and just waits with her for an answer.
She had said her question so quietly that it surprised Dec when his friend actually answered.
"Aye," Ant answers. "Gonna ask you to marry us some day 'cause I love you to bits."
Dec felt relax Lisa against him upon hearing Ant's reply. She gave Dec a little hug before hurrying next to Ant and cuddling up to him, effectively waking him up.
"Oh hey, pet," Ant looked at her, still quite bleary-eyed.
"I love you, Ant," Lisa says before burying her head against his chest.
"Haha, I love you too, Lise," he replies with an amused look on his face. He looks over to Dec, who has been watching the couple fondly, and throws him a questioning look, as if to ask what was going on.
Dec shrugs, not wanting Ant to know about the interrogation they had put him through during his nap, and just smiles at them. This confused Ant even more.
"I'll leave you two for a bit," Dec says before leaving the flat to give his best mates some privacy.
