I'm not sure what I'm suppose to feel, anger, happiness, sadness... I just don't know. One thing I know is ever since he left anxiety is all I feel. I sighed as I looked up seeing a couple hold hands and talk, they giggled at the same time... All I could help to do was stare. Shelby knocked my gaze clear from them, with a small kick to the knee under the table,"Stop staring Elizabeth..." She said through clenched teeth. My gaze went straight to the table.Welcome to my life. I don't talk. It's not my thing. "What is with you, ever since-" I stopped the flow of words from her mouth, grabbing her hand sentimentally. Sorry Shelby... She groaned at me."Whatever." She grumbled, as she began to wave down the server to get our check. Finally the nervous young man, hastily gave us the ticket. Standing there waiting, for someone to break the silence. Shelby inspected the check, everything seemed to be right by the way her eyes moved. I couldn't help but stare at the server, his eyes darted from me to the floor then to Shelby then back to me. Was he OK? "Everything seems to be right." Shelby said calmly, placing a twenty into the small check tab."Keep the change, Elizabeth, come." Shelby stood, shoulders back, posture of a queen. As she began to walk away, as I got up to follow.
We walked out the door of the small diner, I sighed,"Elizabeth you have to talk sometime or another. You're being immature, he wasn't the end of your world!" I halted in the middle of the small roadway that parted the shops from the parkinglot, I stared at the back of her head. All I could express was hurt... She stopped turning around. Seeing my expression she said nothing, and only glared. "Walk home then, you rat." Shelby spat at me, and turned quickly and hurried to her car. Why was she like this every time? I just groanned and placed my hands in my hoody pockets. It was getting dark... Not a good thing its, when they come out... I began to walk calmly as most of everyone fled to their cars and escaped to their homes. Smart people. I escaped to the ruins of an old neighborhood, not to far from the resturant from earlier. Why was everyone scared of them, I don't understand.
I stood at the fallen gateway of 'The Sunnyside'. I began to walk down the broken sidewalk, only a few minutes of daylight left... If I am taken, I'll be with him. If not so be it. I continued to walk, inspecting building by building. Guessing each ones down fall, them or us? I starred at one. It looks so familiar...
A small breeze began to pick up, overhead the streetlights began to buzz and crackly. One of them is here. The sound of something grinding against the broken rode. I turned to find it. Larger than I expect, I step back. As the drool dripped from its jaws, even with no eyes, it looked at me, it's heavily built body tense. The street lights glowing over it. Its dark-purple skin gave it a hue, it was an Alpha. I stayed calm at it was a stand-off, neither of reacting from the others presence, neither called for help. The tentrils that seeped from its neck blended from black to red. It leaned in close, sniffing me. I stood my ground knowing one small movement and I'd would be two. "Why do you not attack me?" I said softly. Its head jerked, its protruding bottom teeth poked my chin softly. I took a step forward, pressing its teeth to me, in confusion it stepped back. I slowly placed my hand out, offering. A churning came from deep within it's chest. It stood on it's hind legs, it's front hooves pulled to it's chest it let out a loud call, that sounded like a loud cough from a human. It slammed its front hooves into the ground, trying to taunt me in return I didn't move. The overhead lights began to humm loudly, the loud sound of hooves began to surround me. I began to second guess myself, and my decision to come here. The others, that came were much smaller than the alpha. Me and the alpha stood face to face, it slammed it's jaws together, making a loud clicking sound.
In a quick way it lowered it's head, swipping upward, slicing through my clothes. Scraping through my skin, the feeling of its teeth to my ribs as I felt one shatter. It stepped back, I stood tall. The coldness setting in as I felt the wettiness of my clothes, the alpha's protruding teeth covered blood. It licked them clean...Ouch. My knees began to give in as I fell to them. I stood back up quickly, as soon as I got back up I fell back to the ground. The alpha's jaws opened. As it started with my head, gently carressing me into its mouth. The toxins paralized me. Finally. Take me from this world... As the Alpha got most of my body in its jaws, it slammed down. As the blood flooded from its mouth the others lapped it up like mother's milk.
As I looked up seeing a couple hold hands and talk, they giggled at the same time... All I could help to do was stare. Shelby knocked my gaze clear from them, with a small kick to the knee under the table,"Stop staring Elizabeth..." She said through clenched teeth. My gaze went straight to the table.Welcome to my life. I don't talk. It's not my thing. I lost my sanity the first thousand times.
