Chapter 9

Jessica's pov

After Louis left, the same thought kept running through my head. Niall knew all of my friends, the little that I had, and I always knew all of his friends at least I thought I did? What else could Niall be keeping from me? What else don't I know? I was brought back to reality when I heard the bell on the door ring from being open. In walked Chelsea Moss, she was known as the prettiest girl in school and also the school slut. We had never been to friendly towards each other, because of her reputation and because I simply did not like her. Every girl was envious of her looks though including me, she had baby blue eyes, but despite their beauty they were cold as ice. Her long beach blonde hair stopped right above her rear and it shined like gold in the sun. She was pretty much skin and bones. Boys think she looks like an angel or a goddess even, but I knew under all that makeup was an ugly face and a black heart. As much as it pained me to be nice to her, it was my job and I was getting paid so I better not argue. "Hi, welcome to Starbucks, how may I help you? " I gave her the fakest smile I could muster.

"I'll have a tall carmel cappuccino with extra cream with soy milk " I did my best not to cringe, I hated coffee, I know I work at Starbucks, but it was the only job available.

"Will that be all? "

"yes " just the tone of her voice was full of hate and sarcasm

"that will be $4.50, you order will be ready in a few minutes " she handed me the money and went to a table to wait. There were two other people working with me today, they stayed in the back to make the coffee, luckily I just worked the cash register. Oddly there was no one else here except us and Chelsea, business was going slow today. As I was waiting for Chelsea's order, Niall walked in and as soon as he did Chelsea walked over to him, glancing at me on the way, another thing I forgot to mention about her is that she has always been obsessed with Niall and wanted him all to herself. She walked to his side and put one arm around his back and the other playing with the buttons on his shirt.

"Hey Niall, oh, have you been working out? " she said in her slutty, flirtatious voice as she grazed her hand over his abs. Thank God her coffee was done and I called her name before Niall could reply.

"Chelsea! " I shouldn't have said it so loud, I cleared my throat before continuing and brought it back to a normal volume "here's your coffee " she came over and grabbed it from my hand. As she started to leave she returned to Niall.

"Bye Niall " she said seductively as I saw her hand brush the button on his pants. I didn't realise I was gripping the counter until a shooting pain went thought my fingers I released and could see the imprint the counter left on my hands. She finally left and Niall walked up to the counter.

"Well that was unpleasant "

"You should have seen it from my view, how can you let her do stuff like that to you? "

"I'm sorry babe, but I find if I don't struggle or reject her she leaves "

"that's weird "

"tell me about it. But don't worry babe, she just does that to get under your skin "

"I know, I -I just wish she would leave us alone, I swear her heart is made of stone "

"I'm sure she has some goodness in her somewhere "

"Maybe, but it's being smothered by foundation and lip gloss " he laughing showing off his beautiful smile "How did I get so lucky to have you? "

"I'm the lucky one " he put his hand behind my neck and pulled me in for a kiss.

"but seriously, no matter what, you see something good in everybody or at least you try to "

"You do the same thing babe, well except for Chelsea maybe " I laughed "you saw my heart when no one else could, you loved me for me and I love you the exact same way " I couldn't help but smile at how sweet he was being

"all the other girls just see your muscles " I jocked and pulled him in for another kiss, but he pulled away

"wait you see em too don't ya? "

"shut up " we both laughed and I slapped his shoulder, he grabbed the spot and made a fake whimper making me laugh again.

"When does your shift end? " I checked the clock on the wall.

"about two minutes ago "

"great let's go home "
