I've heard that people that contain this gift die miserably when their time on earth would expire.
I've abused my gift far too much. Killing someone just by taking the most simplest glance was my gift? I closed my eyes as the memories seemed to scream at me like I was in trouble for doing something fairly naughty.
'Aria, come meet someone for me.'
'hello?'
'Aria...,' his voice was sweet but firm, 'do you know why you are here?'
'no.'
'you've been...selected to recieve this gift.'
'no....' I gasped.
From that moment on, I felt everything being stripped away from me. I couldn't grasp the fact taht everything was gone. My dreams, my ambitions, my goals have been ripped away from my chest never to be seen again. I never knew what I did to deserve this and this gift I posess reluctantly in my hands. The tears couldn't stop burning down my face after that remorseful day.
The tears eventually melted into a pure hatred.
Rose hissed as she dropped her pairing knife into the sink. She cringed away from the counter to reveal a cut along her finger. A thin stream of blood trickled down her bar arm as I pulled her to kitchen table. She winced as I dabbed a cotton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol on her finger as she squirmed under my presence and care.
"I hate knives." she uttered out, hissing as I wrapped a bandaid around her finger.
"It's not the knives; it's you." I smiled. We were making dinner since mother didn't leave any left overs last night. She knew that she was going to be working late for her shift at the hospital for being a nurse to tended to the ill and injured. She took good care of me when I suffered from harmful situtions. When she tended to my very need she wouldn't talk; she would just take care of anything that I irritating me.
"Maybe." she replied shrugging her shoulders lazily as I wiped the excess blood off her forearm. I held her hand as I pressed my lips onto her finger and then on hers. Her free arm hand my face as I trembled gently.
"You're all right now." I murmured as soon as we pulled away. Our foreheads were pressed against each other as my warmth seeped into her. She seemed to blush for the very first time when her injured hand brushed my shoulder, caressing it in such a way I cringed from her harmless gesture. It sent waves crashing against my mind to how much I liked Rose for who she was. She was daring, crazy and had the innocent beauty of a young child.
"I hope so.."she whispered into the hollow of my neck, snuggling against my chest.
Aria's pov
Smoke drifted from his lips as he crushed the cigarette under his heel. he leaned forward over the balcony rail as I watched him from a few feet away. His black trench coat fluttered gently in the sudden breeze as his tousled locks shook playfully around his dark green eyes. he sighed as he turned to look at me. I was still naked under his other jacket. It was many sizes too big as I hugged myself tenderly under the crisp fall weather.
"may I have my clothes back, Sam..."I asked. His bored into mine as he placed his hand son my hips firmly.
"Tonight I shall give them to you, " smoke still clinged to his clothes. I breathed it in roughly whenever I had the chance, "but you are ordered to do one thing for me."
I nodded sheepishly.
"In the next two weeks, I want you to bring Rose here."
"Why not now, Ryder?" I asked, inching towards him. He seemed to lean closer to my ear. His ragged breath sent electricity down my sides. I was suddenly charged with adrenaline.
"it would be too obvious for Logan."
"I understand...Sam" I murmured, bowing my head down.
Her fingers unraveled a silver warm chain that dangled from her stretched neck as it glistened lightly under the moonlight. Her lips parted to utter a sing word.
"Hello." her voice was quiet and simple. Her eyes lids started to peel off from her eyes as they fluttered from every direction. After a few hazed moments, her eyes landed on mine as I stared contently at her as I held her cold hand from the sudden breeze. The branches seemed to stare at me broadly when the strong wind whipped around them. they swayed violently toward me as if they were to try to grab me at their first try. The leaves settled on the roof we were lying on. They were whisping over us like a wave made of wind that seemed to feel like an invisible canopy that hugged us from the harsh fall weather.
"Rose. Are you awake?" I asked. She nodded. Her eyes widened as her bangs were swept to the side. Her pale porcelain skin seemed to reflect the moonlight back to the rebeled stars that twinkled calmly across the wide black campus that I called my paint splattered sky. The sun went down along the horizon of jagged mountains and valleys along with a wide selection of reds and yellows, followed by a lavender that seemed to bloom as soon as the moon rose up.
I stared at her freshly cut finger as she ripped off the bandage I've wrapped a few hours ago. She seemed to be slightly irritated about the bandaid, as if she hadn't been harmed before in her short life. I found it strange when she looked discouraged to find that she cut herself accidentally.
"My future is dark.." she murmured, digging her face into my chest. I seemed to choke up when she said that. Even if she was joking or was just being random all of a sudden...she still gripped me by her accusation that she may very well die in a few weeks. I wouldn't let that happen to her even if I were to suffer from a 1000 mangled and painful deaths. and if she were harmed..i wouldn't mind doing it all again for her...not once but twice...
Just add it to the list.
"don't say that. Please." I breathed ragged. she winced.
"What?" I pressed.
"Don't...nevermind." she looked up at the sky and then to me, "I want to do something."
"What do you want?"
"I want for us to go somewhere tomorrow...or the day after that.."
"tomorrow will be fine. Where?"
"Surprise." she whispered happily...She looked so serene and happy and...so..Beautiful.
