Aleks looked over the train ticket stub and crumpled help wanted news paper clipping sitting beside him on the hard bench. He was on his way to a small settlement in the middle of no where with the promise of a job. He didn't much like the idea of leaving his mother to live by herself but with no other option he had to take the job to support the two of them. His mother was fine with him leaving, practically pushing him on to the train earlier that morning with wishes of his well being and reminders to write to her. Just as he was able to get out a goodbye, it seemed that the train was already pulling away from the station and beginning it's journey south.
