chapter two
The Council hq was one of the biggest buildings in all of Coral besides the castle where the king and queen live. It kind of looked like what land people call the roman coliseum except the hq had a roof and a wall separating where the Council has their meetings and the main entrance. The Council hq was painted white with gold here and there much like the high school.
Breathe, I told myself. It's going to go great! You will get a stable job as an ocean nurse, have two kids and live happily ever after. Even I didn't believe me. I walked in and talked to a clerk "I'm here for the test" I said "I'm Tesse, Tesse Aura" the clerk didn't even look at me. She typed my name into the computer and her eyes widened. She must've seen a picture of me. She then proceeded to look at me, well not me my tail.
"O-oh yes Tesse Aura please follow me" said the clerk without taking her eyes off my tail. Rude. I mean I don't blame her, if I saw someone with a tail that has never been documented in the history of ever, I'd stare at me too. The clerk led me to a set of large doors and said "Go inside, they're waiting" and with that she left me. What?! I have overheard stories of people taking the test on their 18th earth turn but they talked about being put into large groups and led int to a big classroom like room. Never "I went and told the clerk my name so she led me alone to stand infront of a set of large doors". Oh no.
I tried to compose myself and swam into the room. Inside was the Council. And I mean like the entirety of the Council, all 15 of them. That doesn't sound like a large number to many, but being cast out for most of your life and only having your Keeper as company, 15 people staring at me with no intention of laughing was terrifying.
As I take my eyes off the Council, I spot two girls. One of them pale, blonde and very delicate looking, the other looked familiar though.
Wait. That's her. That's the girl I bumped into that was all like "I though I was the only one ".
I must've been staring, because she felt my eyes on her and looked at me in disbelief. The feeling's mutual. "Hello Tesse Aura, we've been waiting " said one of the Council Mèrr. She was tall, regal and most of all, terrifying. She had her fiery red hair tied back into a tight bun. "Please, come and join the other two." she said gesturing at the shy blonde and the brunnete I bumped into earlier.

I know this is short and that probably no one will be seeing this but myself but I really like this chapter. Anyway if anyone is actually reading, comment below! It tells me I'm not crazy to be writing a story for no one.
