DYLAN'S POV

(1 week later)

The south of France is amazing! It's hot and sunny, people are really nice. But the only downside is that I don't exactly pay attention in my French lessons, so I don't understand what they are saying to me.

I'm starting to get kinda lonely over hear though. I mean the only English company I've had since the start of this holiday is my Dad.

And he's not the best company I've ever had.

"Come on Son." my dad said with two fishing rods in his hands. He was crazy about fishing, so I thought it would be a good idea to go.

"Sure Dad, give me those and I'll put them into the car."

He smiled and handed me the rods. As I was putting the fishing rods in the car my phone began to buzz.

I looked at my phone and it was another text from Sam.

She was angry at me because I couldn't text her very often because I was out of the country and it cost me twice as much to call or text people.

After I was finished reading the text I decided to text her back then join my dad in the car.

I wrote;

Hey Sam. I'm totaly sorry about not talking to you very often, but you'll see me soon :)

And I promise that when I get back we'll spend the whole weekend together. All your favourite films and I'll even buy you some Ben & Jerry's.

After pressing send I put my phone in my bag in the back off the car and hopped in the front.

After about an hour of driving my dad said to me, "Now son, I brought you here this year to show you something that my father showed me when I was your age."

God, he was going into parent mode. I'm gonna have to play along and hope it's not too bad.

"sure dad, where are we going?"

"There's a lake in the mountains, it's where I proposed to your mother," he said to me, then he added "and where you were conceived."

"Oh god, Dad! Did you really have to tell me that?" I laughed with a disgusted face.

After another half an hour we were deep into the mountains.

The roads were beginning to become more narrow.

"Umm... Dad. Do you mind slowing down a little?" I hate to admit it but I was really scared.

"Oh c'mon, a little speed never killed anyone." He laughed and I began to cry in terror.

As I started to cry my dad looked over towards me.

I looked up at him, the snapped my head foward and saw a deer on the road.

My dad saw it a split second after me and turned sharply to the right.

The road barrier crumpled under the pressure from the impact and we fell.
