More Than A Delivery

The Delivery

"GET IN THE CAR GET IN THE CAR" I yelled as Zack robbed someone in GTA. Every Friday night we would get together, just Zack, Alice, and I, to play video games or watch a movie. Tonight was a video game night.

"GO GO GO!" ALice yelled excitedly cheering Zack on.

"I am!" Zack snapped back feeling pressured by the audience.

"OH NO!" we all shouted at once at Zack ran his car through a store.

We all fell in a pile of laughter. We kept lauhging until Alice chimed, "You're a horrible thug." At that i laughed.

"Whatever I'd like to see you do better." Zack chirped back

"Oh I will." Alice said nearing Zack, looking like they were about to engage in a deep kiss.

"GROSS GET A ROOM!" I yelled before I had to witness them get it on.

Zack shot up at my remark looking like a deer in headlights, his cheeks lit up a warm red color before saying, "Whatever we weren't even gonna do anything." He looked slightly angered at that, so in return I threw my arms up, surrendering. I looked at Alice waiting for her to do the same but she just looked slightly affended.

"Ok whatever" I said, breaking the awkwardness. "let's order some pizza." Just like i hoped it redirected their minds.

"On it" Zack said jumping up to run to the phone.

What was that? I thought to myself. We were all just friends but Alice flirted with Zack a lot. I had never seen him this angered. Maybe he just had a bad day.

"Pizza will be here in five minutes." Zack said, interupting my thoughts and sliding into the piece of couch next to me.

"Sounds great." I remarked letting a smile plaster across my face. I didn't really like to eat unhealthy but Friday was my exception. Zack and Alice usually made fun of me for eating so healthy but it pays off, plus healthy foods are delicious.

We all sat in silence until the doorbell interupted us. I shifted uncomfortably at the silence thinking back to earlier which was probably the cause of the awkwardness. I still didn't know what was making Zack on edge.

"PIZZA!" we all shouted at once, as we jumped off the couch and raced to answer the door. I flung the door open and we all practically fell through the doorway. The pizza guy looked surprised at our sudden appearance and his eyes widened. I couldn't help but laugh at his reaction.

"That'll be twenty dollar and sixty cents" he said as he handed Alice the pizza boxes. Alice welcomly took the pizzas with a smile and hurried over to the table. She's a pig, I laughed to myself. Alice tried to get Zack to start eating with her but he stayed in his place staring at the delivery guy.

"Got it" I said to the others as i ran to the kitchen to grab the money my parents left on the counter for me. They know about our Friday night "parties" so they always leave me money. Thinking of how thoughtful my parents were made me smile. Finally I snapped back to the task on hand and ran to the doorway, trying not to keep the others waiting for too long.

"He-" I begin to say here but then I made eye contact with the delivery guy. His striking ice blue eyes stared into my thoughts. His curly brown hair laying in a perfect mess on top of his head. His height was perfect for me, and his lips were like pillows that I desired to rest my lips on.

"Clementine?" he asked as if he was surprised, even thought I've never seen him him before. Chills ran down my spine at the sound of his voice saying my name. Wait...how did he know my name?

"Y-yes thats me" I said angered by the fact that i kept stuttering. "Do i know you" I said in a voice that sounded ruder than I intended.

"Uh yeah i think I've seen you around school" he proclaimed while running his hand up and down his neck, clearly emberassed that I didn't recgonize him. I'm sure I would've recgonzed his face if I'd seen it.

"Oh I'm sorry I haven't seen you before". I said feeling rude for not taking the time to recgonize him before. How could I know EVERYBODY I went to a high school with over two thousand students in it.

"That's okay" he said striking a perfect smile full of white teeth "A beautiful girl like you probably wouldn't recgonize a nobody like me". I felt intimidated by his beautiful presence. My heart flew off into it's own world, beating at the speed of light in response to his compliment. I also was confused what he meant by that. It's not like I was popular my only friends were Zack and Alice. I felt like he was hinting that i was a snob. No I decided I was just over thinking it. We stared at eachother in silence before Zack coughed causing me to snap out of my thoughts. I looked around noticing the disgusted look that hung over Zack's face.

"Just give him the money Clem." Zack grunted, obvious anger in his voice. What was up with him lately.

"O-Oh yeah sorry," I stuttered, feeling my face warm. "Here," I said as i reached my hand out to put my money in his hand, "See you around school I guess."

"See you around, Clem" He said with a wink that shot a hole right through my heart. He grabbed the money out of my hand sliding his hand across mine slowly and purposely.

Oh my god. I thought as thousands of thoughts whirled through my head. I jumped up and down and squealed.

"What a douche" Zack said with an eye roll, ruining the moment.

"Whatever grumpy." I laughed while giving him a playful punch on the arm. As i hoped, he laughed but it faded quickly. We went into the kitchen to eat our pizza.

"Someone's in love." Alice cooed while shoving pizza into her mouth. "I saw those looks you have him you're TOTALLY into him!" She laughed.

My cheeks were on fire. I looked to Zack who ate his pizza while staring out the kitchen window. He turned to me with a dissapointed look and looked away as soon as we made eye contact. I really wanted to know what was up with him. I decided I would ask him later because the smell of the pizza interupted my thoughts. Before I dug in i pulled my long dark hair away out of my face. I pushed it to the back and felt it cascade down to my hips. Then i picked up a slice of pepperoni pizza and took huge bite. I looked over at Zack and immedietly lost my appetite. I set the pizza down and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Zack what's wrong?" I asked him preparing for him to me." You seem a little off today are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Zack side with a fake smile. "Just tired I should probably go now.

"Uh, okay" me and Alice both said. "See you tomorrow."

I watched him grab a slice of pizza and his car keys and walk out the door without turning back to face us. It hurt me to see Zack so hurt. I felt like I was letting him down. Zack would never let me walk out the door if I was acting like that without sitting me down and making me spill out my feelings. Maybe we could all get together tomorrow and I could see if it was really all just him being in a bad mood.
