Adelaide didn't want to buy cellphones because she believed in the traditional, village-girl styled of life, not because her family is poor or smth. Actually, her family, their family, is kind of well-known, yet not the richest of the village.

Adelaide and Cameron. The Brexton household and The Rutherford. Both have been good friends since forever, benefitting one and another. It may have been only the households being friends, but truly, Adelaide and Cameron were more than that. At the age of 15 and 16, Adelaide and Cameron may have realized that they loved each other, the moment their families had been waiting for since forever.
Sadly, Cameron was going to pursue his dream, and it was no way going to be a reality if he stayed at his hometown, a village technically out of the town's reach. And for that, he was going to the big city, London, to pursue his dream as an owner of a computer corporation. He was pumped to do it from the dust, with going to the known IT university, and et cetera.
Cameron had promised Adelaide that he was going to send letters, since there was no other option, the option calling by the phone not available. She had always waited patiently, feeling that their love is a strong one, and it's not going to break because of mere miles. What happened when Cameron stopped altogether for 3 months abruptly, and then sending the letter a month after that, saying that he was going to go back to their hometown? She was only going to cross her fingers that it would be good news.
