Prejudice due to medical issue
Minor self-confidence / body-confidence issuesThe young girl sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror, once again wishing she looked more like her mother and father. Even though her parents had tried to explain it to her she didn't understand, not really. All she saw was that she was opposite to her parents in every way. While they had beautiful dark chocolate skin and rich black hair, she had milk white skin and pure blond hair. Even her eyes were different from her parents, they had dark brown, almost black eyes and she had grey. The doctor had informed her parents that she was what's called an albino; someone who had trouble producing colour pigments which had left her pale and so very different from her family.
The other kids in the area didn't say anything but she could see the way they looked at her, the words "She's different" evident in their eyes. She never told her parents what she saw; she didn't want then to worry about her. One of the older kids, he was a real bully, used to insist that her parents had actually stolen her from a white couple and that they weren't her real parents and that they didn't love her.
This she told her mother, almost believing what he had taunted her with. As soon as her mother heard what they boy had said she wanted to know his name. When asked why she said it was because she wanted to talk with the boy's mother. They young girl reluctantly told her mother what his name was, as soon as she had her mother offered her a treat as if to make up for the boy's cruel words. The boy never bothered her again.
