First Impressions

Shivering, I tugged at my grey covers. Turning to my side, the green time of 5:31 shone brightly into my face.  Groaning, I closed my eyes just five more minutes I think to myself.

BANG!

I fell out of bed landing with a thump on the solid wood floor. Why couldn't I have fallen on the soft rug. Arising, from my sprawled spot on the floor I look towards the clock. 8:15 F*ck. Screaming to myself I head towards my wardrobe grabbing whatever is in sight to chuck on. Heading towards the kitchen I jump down the wooden stairs two at a time. Tripping I stumble down the few stairs left.

Pause a second I should tell you now that I am one of the clumsiest people you will ever meet. When It was my first few days of secondary school , I had a pretty bad fall. Our school has two really large staircases outside the front of the building. Concrete staircases. One day, I was just casually walking up the stairs with some books and my backpack when I promptly face-planted up the stairs. Ashamed I just stayed there, showered with shame and papers. I could already tell that I had scraped my knees a good bit. I hit my head on one of the stairs, and that was a really great look for me. But anyway no one helped me! Like, when I see people fall in front of me, I try to help them out. Or ask if they're okay. NO ONE DID THIS.I was just lying there, totally unacknowledged. After a few minutes, I picked myself and my pride up off the stairs and went back to my locker. I don't even remember what I was on my way to do. I didn't really have any bad injuries just a bruised ego than anything else.

Clambering up I had a quick look around to make sure no one saw me, especially my little brother Jack, I would never here the end of it but he'd be at school by now. Grabbing an apple for breakfast, I guess it will do, I slam the front door behind me. F*ck, I curse dropping to my knees on the porch, I probably would be great at acting due to my dramatic moments during the day, the only problem I have is I can't get on stage without suddenly bursting into a fit of laughter. Oh well. So mum has already left and now I have no way of getting to school on time, there's no point of even going because I'm going to get grounded anyway for being late. A sudden noise coming from the left brings me back out of my thoughts. What was that? As I gaze I see a moving van and many boxes, great I have new neighbours. Ha! Sarcasm, I hope their not as annoying as the last, God they could never shut that kid up. I would happily have zac Effron as my neighbour as a bad neighbour instead of them.

A guy walks out of the house, it was hard to see him but he looked around my age. He heads towards his bike and notices me, quickly I look down to cover my blush. I feel my cheeks get red as he shouts towards me HEY and starts to walk over to me. Standing I brush of the dirt on my clothes.

" Hey, I'm Dylan" he speaks to me his lips curling up at the ends slightly.

"Stephanie" I reply. " But everyone calls me Steph"

"A pretty name like yours shouldn't be shortened"

Uh please that was just pathetic.

"Yeah it kinda was wasn't it"

Wait did I say that out loud?

I guess he could tell what I was thinking when he said " Yeah you did say it out loud"

I burst into hysterics.Uh great Steph what a great first impression.

" So how come your not at school yet?"

" Mum left without me"

"I can give you a lift if you want, if you don't mind bikes?" I can tell he presumes I'm like all the other girls and don't like bikes. God please I have one myself it just happens to be in repair at the moment after I decided to take a short cut.

"I'm not like the other girls, I happen to love bikes let me guess it's a GSX-R 600 SRAD (Suzuki Ram Air Direct) and yes I'd love a lift thanks"

His jaw drops and I chuckle to myself he wasn't expecting that.

" God there's more to you than meets the eye, and nice clothes"

I look down at myself and realize what I mess I look  I slap my head. I was wearing a baggy Nirvana shirt that wasn't to bad I mean there awesome, but when I looked to my legs I was wearing pj trouser, seriously how worse could this get it's too late now ill just have to hide as much as I can today so less people see me. He handed me his helmet but I felt guilty if he injures himself, he looked confused as I ran into the house returning with my own helmet.

"Got your own bike"

I nod and get on the back, I felt a little uncomfortable but he guided my hands around his waist and turned the bike on. I shuffled a bit till I was comfortable and we left for school.
