Hunter
I woke up around 8:30. Right away I was bored out of my mind. I watched TV for a little while but nothing good was on, then I listened to music and got bored from just sitting there. So I decided I would text Monique and Chase to see what they were doing today. We were all free so we agreed to go to the boardwalk around 10. I had an hour till then so I got dressed in a red one piece and threw on my crème Aztec print shorts. I put on an anchor necklace and a starfish ear cuff since I figured we wouldn’t really swim. If we did I could just take them off. I grabbed my bag and put some sunscreen and my red Raybans in it, then set it on the floor by my bedroom door along with my sandals. I checked the time on my phone and still had at least 30 minutes until I had to leave. I grabbed my book, and set an alarm on my phone so that I knew what time I should leave without being late.
I read at least 3 chapters by the time my alarm went off. I put my book in my bag, just in case, and then I was on my way. I pulled my headphones out and listened to music on the walk there. My favorite part of the song! I sang along as I walked on the beach.
“But now, who knew? She’s in the crowd at my show. Nothing to lose. She’s standing right in the front row. The perfect view. She came along on her own. And there’s something that you should know.” I got a few weird looks from people; but who cares?
Chase and Monique were waiting for me when I got there.
“Oh. I’m sorry! Am I late?” I asked, as I put my headphones in my bag and my phone in my back pocket.
“No. We are just early,” said Chase.
Monique came up to me and gave me a bone-crushing hug.
“Can’t… Breathe… Need… Air…!” I said as she pulled away laughing.
“So what do you guys want to do?” asked Chase.
“Well we can go down to Richie’s if you guys are up for it. Then we can go get lunch at Charlie’s in a little bit?” I suggested.
Richie’s is this HUGE music store down right next to this hole-in-the-wall that has the best burgers ever! Nobody knows the name of it, since there are no signs, but the owner’s name is Charlie and he’s always there, so that’s what we call it.
“Sounds like a plan” Chase said.
“Ya. Sounds good to me.” said Monique
“Cool. Let’s go then.”
We walked for about five minutes and then turned into Richie’s. I went straight to the records in the back, while Monique went to the sample music, and Chase flipped through CDs. I found a couple that I would have bought if it hadn’t been for the price so I gave up looking and moved over to the CDs. I found multiple on “clearance.” There wasn’t really a clearance section or anything. They were all just mixed in with everything else, but they were marked down considerably. I picked out a few that I ended up buying. I got 3 CDs for $5. SCORE! We had already spent an hour there, and we were all getting hungry, so we went next door to buy lunch. Once we had gotten our food, we went to “our” table by the window. It’s the spot that we always sit at when we come. I think everyone knows we sit here too.
“So how was your night with David?” I used a ‘lovey-dovey’ voice when I said his name.
“Wait! Who’s David?!?!?! Why don’t you two ever tell me anything?!” screamed Monique.
“He’s just a guy” said Chase.
“Ya. Just a guy that you went on a date with!”
“Whatever.”
