Having a crush on your classmate isn't bad right? Actually it's where love would naturally begin. Love starts from being strangers, pulled in by fate, and tied with a red string - it's called love.

My name is Ciara. When I was young, saying, uh, third grade? Love didn't occur to me; I was the grumpy troll. The other girls called me that cause when I was young, I always hated boys and always stayed away from them. To other people, it seemed weird, but to me, it was the right thing to do, because boys are just monsters that would hurt you. Just like how my daddy hurt my mommy.

Now, I'm at my first year of high school and I still hate men. I promised to myself that I would never dirty myself with men, but don't get me wrong, I'm not a lesbian, or what they call tomboy. I promised to never love anyone but my friends and my family.

It's now the spring of my first year - the start of school is always boring, we have to introduce ourselves although we already know each other. By now, every one of us first years should've already found their circle of friends, or to say, their teammates-in-assignments-and-bullies. Mine is my best friends from last year, Vio and Laila - they're both athletic! Vio is the captain of the tennis club and Laila is the star spiker of the volleyball team of our school.

I feel so ashamed that I'm the only one who is not athletic in our circle. I feel so undeserving of their good service. Well they're such great friends...

"Hey," I heard from the back, finishing my day dream.

It was Vio, pointing in front. I looked in front seeing my angry Math teacher, Mr. Carlo Fillips. We call him Mr. Carlo.

"Sleeping again eh? Ms. Ciara Vallini?" He snapped.

"I'm sorry, sir. I promise I won't do it again."

"Well, Ms. Vallini, better keep your promise this time."

I forced a smile on my face and silently uttered, "Yes." I glanced to the side, only to see Laila not laughing, nor was she smiling. It seemed like something happened.

RECESS

Vio and I stared at Laila, watching her she ate her food. Well, we finished ours, so it was time to do business. We approached her, observing how she would react.

"Hey! Wazzup, sister?" Vio said, trying to cheer Laila up.

She glanced at us, "Nothing's up."

Vio and I took a short glance at each other, concluding something's up. Laila was starting to sweat and held my hand. She was shaking so hard that it seems as if she saw a ghost.

"Laila," I sighed. "Just tell us."

"Yeah," Vio added, trying to butt into the conversation.

"Well you see, it's just really awkward with me and Jon." She told us, "We had a fight last night."

She paused, "And I guess... I just miss him too much."

For those who were wondering, Jon happens to be Laila's boyfriend.

"What the hell are you saying?!" Vio exclaimed, surprising us all. "If you really love someone, you would never, ever, EVER stop loving that person!!"

"But Vio, he i- "

"NO BUTS!" Vio cut her off, surprising us again. Vio stared - with his piercing eyes, he looked so cool. My heart skipped a beat. Laila took a glance, then quickly turning her head to look away. No one can beat Vio's "Piercing Stare."

Surprised, as if she just noticed it, Laila stood up.

"You're right!" Laila exclaimed.

"Plus! There's always Facebook! and I got my tinychat account now!"

"Yeah! So I don't have to worry, right? Right?"

I sensed a little fear in her tone. She sat down, finally calmed. Vio sat too, but we both knew that nothing has changed.

DISMISSAL

Walking home was kind of tense, Vio and I were all alone in that lonely street. Laila had a meeting with her club. It was kind of awkward judging by the face he made. I wonder if he's still pissed off and angry.

What about Laila?

aghhh!! Im talking to myseld in my mind now, maybe i should ask Vio, im overthinking things now.

"Vi-Vio I-", i stuttered, trying to start a conversation.

"So-so you se-"

"Im sorry", he cut me off, what is he sorry for though?

"Perhaps we should go by the store?", he suggested. Ah- now i know what he's trying, he's tryin to lighten up the mood. I see, he's been making a wierd face lately, i wonder. I wonder if it was because, i looked so scared, and he wanted to cheer me up.

I giggled, he looked like he was splattered all over by red paint the way he was blushing.

Maybe. Maybe i am just overthinking things.

Yes, everything is just gonna be alright.
