I lost him...

I lost him...

Yoshiki..

Please be near.

Ayumi searched frantically across the blood splattered, abandoned hallways, only to hear the creaks of planks of wood, and her own breath, as she gasped for air. She had been running for god knows how much. It had been vague to her. How they split up. It all happened so quickly. All she knew now was that her bruised, cut, and dirty, pale legs had been moving every second she could count. Maybe even faster.

Feeling weary, she finally collapsed, catching her breath. There was no other choice. Ayumi felt that she had to give up. After all, she put all of her innocent close friends in this hell. She deserved this punishment. Tearing up, the female remembered how Yoshiki would be there for her. She didn't have a crush on him, her feelings were still towards Satoshi. But for some reason, the bleach blonde make made her feel warm and fuzzy. He made her feel safe.

"Just close your eyes.. I'm running out of time."

"You'll be alright; no one can hurt you now."

"Come morning light-"

"You and I'll be safe.."

"And;"

"Sound.."

She giggled. Giggled at how she had already given up. Her eyes became glossy and her vision blurry. Ayumi realized she was crying. But if course, that was the only thing she could really do.

An echo.. A faint echo came from throughout the Elementary Schools hallways. It sounded like a boy.. Maybe it could've been a ghost but Ayumi ran towards the sound out of consciousness, until it grew louder. It winas a boy. No no- a male. A teenager. She could hear out clearly what he was saying, and out of surprise, it was an add on, or a possible reply to what Ayumi had been singing.

"I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go."

"And all those shadows almost killed your light."

"I remember you said, don't leave me here alone."

"But all that's dead and gone and passed, tonight."

She stopped dead in her tracks, realizing there was a gap between them. She saw the form of a shadow and recognized it. It was Yoshiki--

"Kishinuna- kun!"

Ayumi yelled out to catch his attention. The male was baffled by the sudden outburst but responded by saying her last name as well. She was happy to see him alive and working but the gaping hole that separated them said otherwise. Ayumi looked around to see if anything would bring her across the hole. She ironically found a plank if wood that had been sticking out, and tried retrieving it. Her fingers I'd hurt from all of this work but it was for the greater good. Springs of nails cut her hands but she didn't care. She felt this was futile until the board snapped out of place. She did it! Placing the board on the hole, she was glad to see it fit. Ayumi had been afraid of heights, so walking across this thing would be a small problem. She heard small creaks of the wooden board until snapping sounds followed behind. Next thing you knew, she fell.

"Shinozaki!-"

A larger, warm hand had gripped onto hers at the right time. He pulled her up, cautiously. Ayumi feels shes near the ground once more but of course, trips on an uneven plank of wood. This time, she didn't fall into a hole that has dead bodies- which wouldn't be much of a surprise. Seeing that she had landed on Yoshiki, he looked baffed by far, and dust of pink had been on his cheeks. Or was that just shadow? She really couldn't tell from how dark it was. Ayumi looked flushed, which seemed to knock the sense out of the male. He looked, scared. Of her?

Steadily picking her up, Yoshiki held her hand while he began to walk. He wasn't sure of how this would affect the awkwardness.

"Oi.. Shinozaki?-"

"Hm?"

"I promise.. I promise I'll get you out of this hell. I'm sure we'll find the others as well. Even if we- I die trying."

She was dumfounded at Yoshiki's response. Surprised that a blunt, quiet boy would be so kind hearted at times. She teared up, shaking her head.

"No, no. I won't let you die. I want you to stay by my side. Got that?"

"Y- Yes!"

She noticed how the tall male became  flustered, which was slightly adorable in her case. He seemed to grip her hand tighter, but she didn't mind.

"I'm a bit tired.. Can we rest in the infirmary?"

"Sure."

He responded with a normal tone now. The atmosphere calmed down, but the sound of wind, the feeling of darkness creeping up on you, and creaking floor boards just made it a whole lot creepier.

He watched his surroundings closely. As long as ghosts didn't pop out of anywhere they'd be fine. Reaching the infirmary, Ayumi followed her child like instincts and flopped down on the bed, rolling around in it.

Yoshiki leaned onto the wall, keeping watch over Ayumi, incase some entity came to disrupt them. Or- plainly kill them. He noticed that he was dozing off, nodding his head back and forth, his eyes closing as well. He needed to stay awake and alert. But slowly, he had fallen asleep.

Ayumi woke up to no longer see her male confidant not there anymore. Was he taken? Did he have to use the restroom? Was he.. Was he dead? Thoughts raced throughout the females mind.

"Kishinuma- kun!!"
