The first semester went well. Though she makes no friends, people start not avoiding and give dangerous look anymore. People began ignoring her, treating her like just an ordinary nobody. She witnesses many pranks going around in the Institution, but she never attempts to get involved.

Sheira hated someone to be bullied, but she knows, it is better for her to act like nothing happens. For now, she can't trade the peace she is having. She may have no people to hang out or to lunch with at the Institution, but at least, her classmates talk to her sometimes... it's needed for group projects and etc.

Max doing well at the Academy as well. Her little brother was happy and enjoying their stay in the city. They went to Amusement Park on her 19th birthday and it was Max who was much-had fun.

Her uncle Martin and Marcus also doing good at their job. Since, the city mayor who helps them out, everything is easy. Then Marcus now owns a bike. Max was very excited to ride on it for the first time.

As a 19th birthday present, Martin and Marcus help out to buy her a scooter, so she has not much trouble to pedal every day. She doesn't mind it but the Institution is a little farther. She needs a car or something aside from a bicycle.

Sheira was now hanging out in the roof again, her escapade when she can't sleep right away. She looks up and tried to count the stars but it was crazy. Who could count the stars in the universe? That's the only thing anyone could not do.

In these passing months, she got trouble to hide her feelings. She knows, she starts falling in love with Marcus. She is a grown woman now, and legal. She bends her knees and rests her chin on it.

She remembered that night.

* * * * *

Sheira went down to the kitchen to get some water. She often prepares some for Max. He sometimes awakes in the middle of the night and asking for the water.

She looks up at the clock, it was 12:30 at midnight. She notices Marcus fell asleep in the living room. With a dim light from the kitchen, Sheira watches his handsome sleeping face. He was groaning awhile ago, he seems to have a dream. She got curious if what he is dreaming, or who he dreams about.

She is tempted to touch his face, but before her finger touch Marcus' skin, he grabs her pulse.

"Jamie," Marcus whisper, still half asleep.

"Marcus, you fell asleep on the couch." She said.

"Sheira!?" Marcus was now fully awake. "Oh," Marcus stretching from seating on the couch. He massages his neck.

"I guess, I fell asleep watching the game." He and Martin watching a basketball game after dinner. They always set the TV to turn off at such time. Because someone always fell asleep on the sofa and left the TV on.

"Yeah. You should go upstairs now and sleep comfortably. Anyway, my hand."

Marcus still holding her hand.

"Oh, I am sorry." Marcus let go of her hand.

She touches the part where Marcus held it. It burns. It feels hot on that part.

"What you were doing here anyway at this hour?" Marcus asks her.

"Am pitching some water for Max, when I notice you still here in the living room. I-- am about to wake you up, when you awake."

"And grab your hand, I think?" Marcus continued.

"Yes. I am glad you haven't put force and throw me." She laughs a bit.

"Oh, that would be bad." He said.

"Well, probably I'll give you a hard kick before you could do it." She stated. Marcus chuckled.

"Yeah, please do that." Marcus gets up from the couch and stretches his arms.

She watches him for a moment but realizes, she is doing a crazy thing. She is thankful the living room is dark, Marcus would not see her cheeks blushing.

"Okay, I'll go ahead." She hurried to leave the living room to avoid staring at Marcus' body.

"Sure. I'll check the door and windows first."

She nods at him and runs the stairs. Her heart beating fast. She leans on the bedroom door and settles her breathing before a walk towards her own bed. Max shared the bedroom with her. She put the glass in the table and sit on her bed. Max's bed is on the left side of the room, opposite hers.

She lies on the bed. "Jamie." She whispered. Argh, her heart was a stab. Marcus still remembering her. But she died three years ago. It seems like, Marcus still can't forget about her.

* * * * *

She sighed. He still remembers her. Well, it's just three years have passed.

"You still awake?" Their gasp. Marcus suddenly talks from behind. He sits beside her. "Can't sleep yet?"

"Uhm, yes..." Why he is so close to me?

"Why? Something bothering you?" He asked.

"Huh? Oh, nothing." She pushes a smile to him. "I just found the night sky is clear tonight."

"Hmm..." Marcus looks up at the sky and settles his gaze to the starry horizon.

"Is everything okay at the school?" He asked once more. Why I could feel his body warmth?

"Yes. It is fine." I answered.

"Good, am glad."

Why I am so nervous?

Silence wrap around us.

Later on, Marcus takes my head and brings it to his shoulder. I quiver with his surprise action. We stayed that for awhile.

"Have you remember? When we are in the mountains? You are too cute back there." He laughs.

She groans, not because of that memory, but in all of the things, her being a kid is what Marcus could still see and remembers.

Back there, she often proud to say to everyone that Marcus is a big brother to her.

"But look at you now... I can't believe it." He stated.

Wait. Is that a compliment? She speaks to her mind.

Marcus looking down at her. She gulped. Then after a few breathless moments, Marcus lowers his face... and kiss her forehead.

"Doesn't mean you are a cute lady now is you are allowed to stay up late. Go and take asleep now."

She sadly sighs but pushes herself to smile.

"Okay. I'll go now. Goodnight Marcus." She said.

Marcus smiled and nod. Sheira left him in the roof and headed to her window and enter her bedroom. She takes a peep on him, staring his back before she lowered the sliding window and locked it.

"He is lonely. That's for sure." He might not show it, but he is.
