It was opening night. The audience was filled with parents, teacher, and students. I had to impress everyone. I wanted to go to Oklahoma City University. I had to get the acting scholarship to go there. I had dreamed of it since I was a little kid. My father always said I was a dreamer, but I think dreaming is sometimes better than reality.

My feet skidded across the ground as I ran down the hallway. I hunched over and tried to catch my breath. My ankles were raw and sore from all my running. I had to make it to the dressing room before the next act started. I couldn't miss it. I swept up my tie and shoes and turned around. I sprinted back to the stage. The curtains were closed luckily, otherwise I wouldn't have made it. I put on my tie and shoes, then looked up at the sky. I froze in my position I had to start the next scene in. The lights came on and I thankfully remembered all my lines.

I had just finished my big scene. I took off my tie and folded it gently. I didn't want to ruin it for tomorrow night's performance. I sat down on a bed and began to remove my shoes. I was taking off the left when I looked up and a saw a man looking down at me. He almost looked like something from a fairytale. His eyes were as grey as the sky during winter. His hair was dark brown, and he wore some old glasses that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. He looked a little older than me, but not more

"Hello." He spoke in a moderate voice. I was expecting some sort of old, scary man voice to come out but he sounded almost like a twelve year-old.

"Hi. What are you doing in the dressing room?"

"Oh just going for a little stroll. It's fun to explore new places isn't it? I very much do like theaters. Always give me a sort of warm feeling." He sat down next to me and looked me deep in the eyes. His grey ones were almost swimming, quite creepy actually. I had to look away.

"Why are you in my high-school though, I think only the students and directors are supposed to be back here. Are you lost? I have another scene in a couple minutes." I realized that my scene where I had to pop up from inside a locker was coming up. Crud, I need to get ready.

"Actually, I was wondering if you could come with me, I have to show you something." He had a big, white, smile plastered on his face. He took my wrist and pulled me out of the dressing room. He then ran down the hallway that I had already ran down earlier.

"I don't really have time for this! I have an scene in a minute!"

"Oh come on! It will only be a second!" He kept running into it seemed like we were going to run into a brick wall. I tried to slow him down by dragging my legs, but he just bent down and picked me up. I weigh like one hundred and fifty pounds, I am afraid I'm going to break this dude. He doesn't look like he even weighs over one fifty himself.

He ran until he met the stage door at the end of the hall. He swung it open outside and I almost fell down the stairs. He came behind me and put his hands over my eyes. "Now, don't open until I say so." He took his hands from my eyes and I heard a little squeak from a rat I presume. I really don't like rats. He led me down to the ground and I lying with my face towards the sky.

"NOW!" He tapped my shoulder and I opened my eyes instantly. I couldn't believe it. It was like I was in a different world. There was little twinkling lights everywhere. Little fluttering lights. I reached my arm to touch one. I was just about to grab one when he jumped on top of me and grabbed my arm. "No, they mustn't be touched until you are ready.

"What? How am I not ready? Ready for what exactly?" I gave him a puzzled look but he just smiled.

"Only time can tell miss. Here, when you are ready, just call and I will be there to bring you." He handed me a jar with one of the glowy lights in it. "Goodbye Miss."

I woke up with a shake. "Kira honey, you overslept, we have your big performance tonight! You hve to prepare remember?" My mom was speaking to me. I rolled down the covers and saw I was in my pajamas. What a strange dream. I could have sworn it was real. I flopped over to look at my alarm clock. It was almost noon. I noticed that the small jar was also there. The light was not bright, but very dim. Was it a dream?
