Evening sadness (Ereri)

Eren sighed softly as he looked down at the pencil he was holding with his hand. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, opening them not soon later as tears were on the edge of escaping and wetting his paper. He bit his lip and clenched the pencil tightly, looking at the drawing he just made, his mother perfectly drawn on it.

Levi walked down stairs tiredly, rubbing his eyes and running his fingers through his bed hair. He blinked as he got to the bottom of the stairs, looking at his lover in confusion to the saddness in his eyes. "Eren..? Eren, what's wrong..?"

Eren blinked slightly at the sound of the raven's voice, the pencil still clenched tightly between his fingers. He looked over at him and gave him a sad smile. "Nothing..." He said softly and looked back down at his drawing.

Levi knew that was a lie, he had been with Eren for a while and could easily tell when something was wrong. "...Is it her, again..?" He asked gently, knowing it was a sensitive topic as he walked over and sat down beside Eren. He sighed softly, running his fingers through the boy's messy hair soothingly.

Eren sighed softly and gave a small nod, laying the pencil down. "Yeah..." He replied quietly, looking over at Levi. He gave him a sad smile and closed his eyes to hold back his tears.

Levi frowned deeply, pulling Eren against him so he could cry against his chest. "Eren.. I didn't know your mother..but I'm sure she wouldn't want you to be like this..." He whispered softly, feeling terrible for his lover.

"I know, you told me that already many times...." Eren said softly and wrapped his arms around Levi's waist, holding him tightly. "....Sorry." He whispered and sniffed softly.

Levi shook his head slightly and held Eren tighter to his chest. "Don't you dare to apologise..." He mumbled and rubbed his back soothingly. "Everything will be alright."

Eren gave a small nod and let out a shaky breath, pulling away from Levi's embrace. "Alright...." He said and gave the raven a soft smile, hoping he was right. "I'll try to be like the old me again, for her."

"That's what I meant." Levi smiled softly and stood up. "Now let's go to bed, you look tired." He said and took Eren's hand, pulling him gently to his feet afterwards. The raven glanced at the younger boy and started walking towards the stairs, gently tugging him along.

Eren smiled softly as he followed Levi and closed his eyes. He believed that everything would turn out alright for him, for them. So he followed Levi and laid down on the bed they shared, not so much later, and wrapped his arms around the older male. He drifted off to sleep some time later while the raven watched him, making sure he would fall asleep before him.

When Eren had finally drifted off, Levi gave him a soft kiss on his forehead before he went to sleep himself, wishing that the younger boy wouldn't have to feel sad anymore in the future....
