Chapter 7:
I slept pretty late the next day... I didn't set my alarm because I knew I had nothing to do.
Time after time I looked at my clock, rolled over, and went back to sleep, until I finally rolled out of bed after noon.
I walked downstairs, still half asleep, and looked around the kitchen, expecting my uncle to be preparing breakfast... After realizing he wasn't going to make me breakfast, wherever he was, I decided to make my own concoction.
I looked around a little, but couldn't find anything I wanted. Mid-yawn, I headed back upstairs and took a quick shower, and changed into a floral circle skirt and a cropped top.
I dried my hair, straightened it, added a floral headband, did my makeup, and headed back downstairs.
After grabbing the keys to Simon's car, I meandered slowly down the driveway, stopping every few paces to look at the landscaping. Sweet and simple, the air smelled of flowers.
The roof lowering slowly into the trunk of the car, I pulled out of the driveway and sped down the street. I blasted music as I glided smoothly down the highway, not sure where I was going. Something about the air here was so intriguing. I began seeing signs for the beach, and decided to check it out. Along the way, I past through a cute little surf shop. I realized I didn't have my swimsuit, or anything for the beach, and did a little shopping. I bought a few swimsuits, a towel, sunglasses, flip flops, and sunscreen, and headed down to the beach. I parked the car, carefully and cautiously. I didn't want Simon on my case about his car...
The beach was beautiful. The sky was blue, the water was bluer. The sand glistened and shone in the sun light. I couldn't resist. I took a picture. Before I could get anywhere or do anything, I heard a click. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash. I turned around to see five or six men, wearing black and sweaty, all holding cameras with insane lenses and microphones. They were taking pictures of me!
"Maddie!" One yelled.
"Over here, girl."
One man even had the nerve to come and ask me some questions... "What's it like living with Simon Cowell?"
"Um, no," I said, walking away.
"Madeline! What's it like being on the set of the X Factor, the judges houses?"
I turned around. "It's like being annoyed all the time with a massive amount of camera freaks, so go away, this is my vacation."
They didn't stop. I just ignored them until they went away. I lay on the beach for some time, drifting off to the sound of children laughing and playing, and the smell of the ocean. It was really nice.
I woke up a little later when my playlist ended. I checked the time to see it was after 4. I packed up my things, and was just about to head over and get something to eat, when I saw a small group of attractive boys coming in from surfing. Immediately, my plans changed, and I began walking towards them...
"Hey," said one tall boy. He had dirty blonde hair that was flipped back from the sea water.
"Hey guys," I smiled. "How's the water?"
