Chapter 1
"Carrie come on or else we're gonna miss the okra fest" I hear Lily yell from outside my window..."Coming" I reply as I grab my bag & shoes..I'm always running late but thats because I take so long in the shower, then it takes me years to pick out my clothes...Either way i'm ready now...I head down the stairs & I see Lily waiting at the car tapping her index finger against her gold Chevy S10, a hand me down from her brother when he went to off to college...I give her a quick smile & hop in the passenger seat like there was nothing wrong. I can see her roll her eyes as she walks around the car & I begin to laugh..We go through this all the time she should be used to it by now..."Carrie next time you better meet me there or you better be ready two days before" she cracks a smile & we both begin to laugh. We roll the windows down & head downtown to the okra fest...It's like our towns tradition which means it's officially the beginning of Summer break..Lily puts the pedal to the metal and before I know it we're down on Washington street looking for Justin, Lily's on & off again boyfriend...We spot him standing outside of his car with an open parking spot next to him...Lily quickly parks & jumps out into his arms..I stand there as they begin to make out for about 30 seconds.."Thats pretty awkward huh" I hear a voice whisper behind me...I turn around to see a handsome brown hair,brown eyed boy shooting me a shy smile..The kind where only the side of his mouth curves...."Brad you made it loser!! Next time you better be on time" Justin jokes as he walks over & begins to wrestle with the brown eyed boy..."Hey Lil, you remember my cousin Brad..." Lily walks over & gives him a big ole hug..She is very outgoing like that..She doesn't care who you are, she will hug you & talk your ear off..I'm more reserved..But we have a good balance..."And this is Carrie' Justin says with a smirk..."Nice to meet you Carrie....." Brad leans in to shake my hand as he stretches out the saying of my name hinting towards wanting to know my last name...'Underwood...My name is Carrie Underwood...And you're Brad?" I stretch out his name & he quickly replies...."Paisley..I'm Brad Paisley...It's a pleasure to meet you Carrie Underwood" He smiles & kisses my hand...My cheeks instantly turn red...Lily begins to laugh & suggests we start walking so we don't miss the parade...Lily & Justin walk in the front & I follow behind with Brad....
