Waking up on Monday morning wasn't exactly graceful.

I groaned as my alarm clock started ringing earlier than usual and hit the snooze, staring blankly at the ceiling. Luckily, I had managed to get my fair share of sleep these last few days without any dreams, but that didn't mean I appreciated being woken up at six in the morning.

I groaned again as realization hit me. It was Monday morning, which meant first day of school for me.

As if to confirm my thoughts, I heard knocking on my door and then Jason poked his head inside my room.

"You're going to be late for school, if you don't wake up soon"

I just groaned again -for the third time this morning- in response, as he took the hint and left the room.

After about five more minutes of lying in bed, the alarm started ringing again. Realizing I would have to get up sooner or later, I sat up in bed and turned off the alarm.

I got up from the bed stretching, and found out that I still had enough time to take a quick shower. So I got my towel , and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wake me up completely. I then entered my walk-in closet and proceeded to decide on what to wear.

The weather was a little chilly outside, but not that cold. So after going through my wardrobe, I decided to wear a simple navy and white polka dot long-sleeved top, along with a pair of black jeans and sneakers, and decided to take my black leather jacket just in case.

I got dressed and was about to start blow drying my hair, when my phone beeped with a new text.

'Do you need a ride? '

It was from Mia. I quickly replied positively, as I wasn't really looking forward to walking to school. It was a fifteen minutes walk in the most, but still. I decided to also ask if Jason could come along as well, as I remembered that he didn't have a ride either.

After a few minutes Mia replied that it was no problem, and that she would be here in a few minutes. I continued blow drying my hair until it was completely dry, and then put it up in a high ponytail.

I smiled at my reflection in the mirror satisfied with my appearance, then got my backpack and went downstair to the kitchen.

Mom and Dad were already up, and eating breakfast with Jason.

"Morning" I greeted, and got a chorus of greetings in return as I took my seat and got myself a bowl of cereal.

"Do you need me to drop you off?" Dad asked as he sipped on his coffee.

"No, thank you. Mia is going to pick us up." I answered.

"Us? " Jason raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah, I asked her if you could come along and she agreed" I shrugged.

Jason hummed and nodded, "Better than walking"

We continued our breakfast until I got another text from Mia telling me that she was outside.

"Mia's here !" I announced "Gotta go!"

"Okay sweetie, good luck" Mom smiled, as I kissed her cheek and hugged dad.
