Lead me out of the dark

Chapter 3

The drunk guy stumbled up to Alex and Kaitlyn and started screaming at them. Alex said "what the fuck dude. Get out of here before I fucking punch you". Kaitlyns shocked with how fast Alex snapped but she thought it was kinda hot with how protective he was. The drunk guy pushed Kaitlyn to the ground and tried to hit her. Alex went crazy. He pushed him out of the way and started punching him. He wouldn't stop. I got up and pulled him off of him. He knocked out the drunk guy. He hugs her so tight and says "are you okay? I'm so sorry that happened. I don't want anything to happen to you. Ever. I'll protect you forever. As long as there's breath in my body." She just hugged him and started to tear up. Her elbow and knee were bleeding because they got scraped up when she fell. She was okay though. They hugged for almost 10 minutes. She felt so safe around him even though she didn't know him that long. There was just something about him that was so comforting and perfect. She looks up into his eyes and it's like time stood still. I know that's such a cleshay thing to say but that's exactly how she felt. They kissed and it was like everything was completely perfect. Like nothing else mattered. They stopped and held hands on the way to the car. He drove her home and they talked the whole way. Kaitlyn totally forgot about everything that just happened. She didn't care. She was finally happy for once in her life. Tomorrow she started school. She was a senior just like Alex. She was starting at the same school as him. He drove her home and she walked inside. She was so tired so she immediately took and shower and went to bed. The next morning when she got up, she was so scared. She started to get ready for school. She has a flashback. Back to the last day she was at her old school. She had just walked in. Everyone starred at her. Some girl walked up to her and started saying stuff about her like she always did. Everyone laughed as always. She called her names. Kaitlyn couldn't take it anymore. She ran home and locked herself in the bathroom. She pulled out that secret bag she hid in there and took out the new shiny razor out of it. She started to cut. Her mom heard crying and ran to the bathroom. She unlocked the door and ran in. She saw Kaitlyn on the floor with bloody arms, and bloody legs, crying uncontrollably. Her mom was crying and screaming. *flashback ends*. Kaitlyn is just sitting there thinking. Looking at her scars. She just brushed it off and tries to continue getting ready. When she is ready, she goes to her mom and she tells her. Her mom drives her to school. As soon as she walks in, everyone stares at her. Some people are whispering. Then she see Alex in the hallway talking to his friends. She walks up to him and he greets her and hugs her tight. They hug for a minute or two. She feels so safe. She says she has to go and walks to her first class. Biology. She walks in and it turns out that Alex is in there. The teacher says to take a seat next to him because that's her new lab partner. Today they had to dissect a frog. She looks at the tools and sees a sharp exacta knife. It reminds her of her past. She just brushes it off. She started to roll up her sleeves and get to work. Alex looks over and sees the scars. "Are those recent" "what??" She said confused. "Your scars. Are they recent?" There is a long pause. "Don't you ever hurt yourself like that. You're amazing and I don't know what I'd do without you. Please don't hurt yourself like that" "...okay...." She says. She pulls down her sleeves and continues to work on the project. After school, Alex drives her home. They sit in front of her house for a few. Just talking. "Why did you do that" "I was going through a bad time. There was a lot going on" "are you okay??? I'm always here for you. No matter what. Even if it's 4 in the morning. You call, I'll answer." "Okay" they kiss for a few. "One more thing, will you be my girlfriend?"
