The Dreamers

Chapter 1

"Candy, wake up! You're suppose to peotect dreams, not produce them!"

"W-what time is it?" I asked into my pillow.

"Midnight!" I jumped out of my mess of a bed. Bad idea. I triped on the covers and landed on the bed with a yelp. I jumped up, grabbing my clothes.

"Oh god, im late," I whispered," why didn't you wake me?!" I threw on my clothes and ran out.

"I tried to!" Her screams were only whispers by then. Luckley I was a fast runner so no one will notice me not being there.

I ran into the dream room, were we monitor the dreams, and sat in the chair that was in the middle of the room. I attached the head set that was dangling instintly being transported into the dreams.

A loud beeping came through the headset as it unattached. "Finally," I yawned getting up from the chair and opening the door.

Everyone was screaming and running. I spotted Mare, the girl who i was talking to earlier, across the hall. I weaved my way through and then panted as I asked,"what...ha-happened?"

"Charlez Dimm, the little red head, vanished into nowhere. It was soooo creepy." I looked around to see Night vanish, and the screams got louder.

As I covered my ears, the chief ,Madame Dream, came into the hallway, makeing everyone silent. "Everyone please calm down, it's all OK, we have it under control." That's questionable, "now, get back to work!" She left as I ran back to my room.

"Geez, it's like you sleep nintey-nine percent of the day!"

"Mhm... Nighty night." I snuggled up to my pillow as Mare went on and on. "I'm trying to sleep, ya know," I mumbled.

"Well you should be-" I covered my ears with my pillow, her voice becoming a low hum, till it stoped. All I heard was the small tapping of he feet as she walked closer. Then, in a flash, I was on the floor, my head aching.

"Ow!" I jumped up, a bit dizzy,"That hurt!"

She rolled her eyes,"Don't you see what's happening?"

"You flipped me off my bed!" She face-palmed.

"No, well yes, but i mean to the dreamers, ya know, the disapearences, someone's up to it!"

"So?"

"So... We need to find out who!"

"You need to find out who, I need to sleep." I hopped back on the bed, only to be flipped off once more.

" what if I has disappeared?" I jumped up.

"You haven't." She wouldn't leave... right?

"But, if this continues I could." That struck a nerve. I've known Mare scince the academy. She was, and still is, my one and only true friend.

"Fine, what do we gotta do?" I sat down on my bed, her sitting on hers. We shared a room.

"Easy, figure out what happened."

"How, exactly, do we do that?"

"I've got no idea!" She yelled excited. 'Great no sleep and I have to come up with a plan.' I groaned as i feel backwards onto the bed.
