Ello, This is just a new story im thinking about writing. So tell me what you think of it . 'Kay?
I chose Demi Lovato to play Daniella ----------->
Daniella's POV
I glance around the auditorium, trying to take everything in without looking like I'm even interested in what's happening. "You'd think they'd at lest hose the place down over the summer" I say.
"Heh, what good would it do?" Tammy asks, leading Jessica and me into our usual row. She stoops to inspect the rainbow of dried chewing gum on the underside of a folding seat before sitting down. "They should knock the building down and start over"
"It'd be a wreck again in a month" Jessica says, settling into her seat next to Tammy. "No one even cares enough to keep it looking nice". She's right, there's Graffiti on most of the seats. Paint hanging from the wall. And more. "Welcome back to Dumpfield" I say. Everyone uses that nickname, although the school's name is really Dunfield High School.
Sitting next to Tammy I put my backpack in the seat next to me. I always reserve an empty seat for my future boyfriend. I haven't met him yet but im ready just in case I meet him. "Heads up" Jessica says. "The queen is in the house" I usually use different five letter words to describe Mariah Mendes, who is striking a pose at the double doors of the auditorium. As she lifts he shades of her face all the boys hands fly up waving her over to sit next to them. Probably because of what she's wearing. God, what is she wearing!
She has on stiletto boots, Lycra warm-up pants, a short tank-top, and a tucker hat. She always has her 'understudies' with her that follow her every damn where. "She actually looks happy to be here" Tammy says. I roll my eyes "thats because she'll have a captive audience, five days a week" I say.
"Imagine what it would be like to have hundreds of people know your name" Tammy muses. "I wonder what it would be like to have at least ten people know my name" I say.
"Ten people do know your name" Jessica says, smiling. "Ten people have your name."
She's right. Nine other sophomores share my name, Daniella Perez. It;s impossible to stand out when ten other girls have your name. Which Daniella Perez? The one with brown hair and eyes? Oh, right, thats all of us. The Daniella who plays the flute? The math whiz? Or the on who runs track? NONE of th above. I have no distinguishing talent of any kind.
"Elven now." Tammy corrects. "There's a new student in my homeroom"
"Great," I say " Im officially invisible".. Tammy sits up a little straighter in her seat and says, "Maybe not. Mac Landis is trying to get your attention."
I snort. Mac -short for MacEwan- Landis never wastes a second glance on me, despite the fact that both Mariah and him went to the same Elementary School and Middle school as me.
"Tammy's right, he is checking you out." Jessica confirms. "Maybe he's come to sit next to you Dannie-my nickname-."
"Or not," I say, more relieved than disappointed as Mac and his pales file into the row behind us. "He's probably too 'cool' to sit right beside you" Tammy says, still hopeful. Mac sits in the seat behind me. I turn to look at him.
"Hey." He says.
To me. Mac Landis said "Hey" to me. I must have changed more then I thought over the summer. Jessica pokes me so that I can at least respond to the greeting Mac just said to me. "Hey Mac," I say. One of Mac's friends points an index finger at me. "Can you move?"
"Move?" I ask. "Why?"
"Duh. Figure it out."
The guys look at Mac for approval, but Mac simply smiles at me and says, "Sorry, the juice makes him edgy."
