Jessica

Today was my second day for Agent Training and I did much better than the day before. I was able to run a full mile without stopping! For me that's a great accomplishment.

Seth's girlfriend Skylar came back to work today since she took a day off to visit her sick grandmother. What a saint. I've tried to feel excited about meeting her for the sake of Seth, but every time he mentions her name my blood boils.

Lucky for me my daily tutoring lessons has come to an end, and I was allowed to go home.

So today I get to meet the fabulous girl that has stolen Sethie's heart. Oh Joy. Note the sarcasm. They're arriving to my house, where we'll be meeting, in 20 minutes.

While waiting, I came down to my favorite room in my large house.

The Dance Studio. I've dance pretty much my whole life. I know I'm not very good in the running department but my endurance is low. Ballet, Jazz, and Hip- Hop were my top favorites. This studio was a present from my parents so I can practice on my own time. I remember jumping with joy when they gave this to me last year.

They were truly the greatest parents I could ever ask for. Why did they have to go?

Wiping a tear that escaped, I stood up and put on my Pointe shoes. These were my most prized possessions. No one can touch them.

I plugged in my phone to the built in sound system and put on some music.

Putting all my emotions into the song, I danced across the studio. All my surroundings disappeared, and it was just the music and I.

A knock on the door snapped me out from my own world. I turned my head toward the sound and saw Seth leaning against the doorframe.

"Amazing as always Jess," He said with a breathtaking smile.

"Thanks but how did you get in?" I curiously asked.

He brought up his hand revealing the spare key I'd given him years before.

"Oh right," I remembered.

"So are you ready to meet her?" Seth asked. His voice was filled with excitement.

"Meet who?" I said. I was still recovering from being pulled out of my fantasyland. It kind of puts me in a daze.

"My Girlfriend Skylar," said Seth.

"Oh! Yes, right. Skylar. Well where is she?"

Suddenly a pretty blonde came to view. I carefully examined her features. She had shining golden blonde hair that stopped in the middle of her back and piercing blue eyes. In short she was Perfect.

Her beauty made my self-esteem drop to zero. I on the other hand had light brown hair and my eyes were a dull blue-grey shade. They used to be a sparkling blue like Skylar's, but ever since the accident they lost all the life in it. I've been told that I was beautiful by many people but I don't think I'm any where near as beautiful as Skylar.

I gave her the best smile I could muster and stuck my hand out.

"Hi, I'm Jessica. You must be the famous Skylar that sole Seth's heart," I said.

"Thanks Jessica. It's nice to meet you. You're all Seth talks about," she said smiling politely. Her voice had a hint of annoyance as she said the last sentence.

I raised my eyebrows shocked. Seth talks about me?

"Oh well you're all he talks about too," I responded. Well it was a bit of a lie since he only told me about her yesterday but being the nice person I am, I said it to spare her pride.

Seth smiled at the both of us.

"It's great I see my two favorite girls getting along," he said as he wrapped an arm around each of our shoulders.

"Anything for you Sethie," Skylar sweetly replied but not after giving him a lingering kiss on his cheek.

Sethie? That's my nickname for him! I don't appreciate nickname stealers. She deserves to get slashed by Voldemort or something cause she’s not giving me a good first impression.

Seth returned her affections with his smile. But not just any smile. My Smile. It was the types that he'd only give me. What is going on?! First she steals my nicknames for him and now she takes his smiles for me? Holy Fudgnuggets!

I coughed loudly interrupting their lovey dovey session, and Skylar wasn't pleased. She gave me a glare. I just gave her a sweet smile.

"Well Jess I'm glad you met Skylar. We're going to go out for lunch at CiCi's. I'm gonna grab some of the stuff I left here last week," said Seth.

CiCi's was a café that we go to eat regularly. Mr. And Mrs. Florence own the place and they are the sweetest people you'll ever meet.

I frowned. "But weren't we supposed to go there today? Like old times? We always go to eat lunch every Tuesday together."

Is he seriously ditching our routinely plans that we promised to never miss?

Seth gave me an apologetic smile and said, "Sorry Jess. Skylar just came back today, and I promised her we'd go out for lunch. We'll do it next week okay?"

Wow some best friend you are, I thought.

It really hurt me to see that Seth would ditch our plans just for a girl he's only know for like months and yet I've been with him for 18 years!

The annoying voice in my head returned. You're only the best friend remember? His girlfriend is his top priority now.

Right. Just his Best Friend.

"Okay then. Go on ahead. We can always reschedule."

He gave me a thankful smile and went upstairs to get his stuff leaving me alone with Skylar.

"So, how've you been?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.

She narrowed her eyes at me and said, "Cut the crap Jessica. I know you have feelings for Seth."

To say I was shocked was an understatement. How could Seth date a girl like her with an awful attitude?

"Excuse me?" I said

"Stop acting stupid. You know exactly what I'm talking about. For your information Jessica I'm his girlfriend so don't you dare try to come in between us." She said venomously.

My jaw dropped at her accusations.

"I'm sorry but what makes you think he'll choose you over me? I've known Seth longer," I asked. This girl is so horrible. She's worse than that Serena chick.

She gave me a smug smile and responded, "Who's the one he ditched to go out with someone else?"

My fist clenched at hearing her words. If she opened that pretty little mouth of hers one more time, she might not have a pretty mouth anymore.

Luckily for her Seth came back still smiling and said they had to go. He gave me a warm hug then left with his hands intertwined with Skylar's perfectly manicured hands.

She gave me one evil smirk behind Seth's back leaving me furious as a bull.
