The Joker Acts

I yawned as this yellow octopus discussed about a topic I wasn't paying attention to. I leaned on my table, and looked tiredly as I "tried" to listen to the lesson. Koro-Sensei never noticed me anyway, so I tried gazing into a differemt section in the room.

Then, a familiar boy caught my eye, and of course it's my bestfriend Isogai. He was completely doing the opposite of what I was doing, he was listening. Good ol' Isogai. He wasn't as smart as the others actually, but he was a little above average.

It was long before I knew that I was eye-ing him for quite a while, and noticed his weird expression as he looked back to me. I quickly smiled at him, so he wouldn't get all suspicious. It worked, at some point. He just gave a small grin, and looked away to listen to Koro-Sensei again.

I breathed heavily, and my thoughts lingered in that moment, when his eyes locked into mine. I was like, trapped in a spell. He was too innocent for me, and I'm the women's magnet that everyone knows about.

"Hiroto-kun, please listen."
Koro-Sensei snapped me out of my thoughts, and I fell off my chair, "accidentally". Some of my friends laughed, but mostly tried to help me, but Koro-Sensei already pulled me up, and checked me with a concerned tone in his voice.

"Are you okay, Hiroto-kun? You're not hurt anywhere are you?"
He asked me. I reassured him, that every part of me was not hurt. He took a last minute check, and went back in front. My chair that was laid down, suddenly got back up.

I looked at Isogai, who seems to be looking back at me, smiling. He put up a thumbs up, and gave me a wide-angled grin. Hopefully, he did help me out a little, but not really sure. That smile is quite, hypnotizing. I'm sure anyone would be tricked. Like Karma is to Nagisa... I think.

Anyways, I keep feeling this crappy butterflies inside my stomach, what is this?! Damn. Ever since me and Isogai became best friends, these butterflies never exited my stomach. Which I wish they did. It's getting pretty annoying, it makes me stutter whenever I talk to Isogai, or talk about him with the others.

"So Maehara-kun, why are you so close with Isogai-kun?"
A girl asked me. I stood beside her confidently, and of course answered her question about my social life. She did look pretty eager.

"W-Well, You see, young lady. M-Me and Isogai... well, we started to talk and know some stuff about each other, and e-eventually... we got along..."
I stuttered, with a nervous tone. But the girl didn't seem to pay attention to how I said it, 'cause she looks quite interested in how I look... dirty slut.

Hey it may be a short flashback, but you get what I meant, right? I stuttered, right in front of that b-- I mean girl... O.O
But she didn't actually care, ehrr-- you know that already!! Still, one question remain in my mind, why do I feel like that...?

*School Bell rings*

I fixed my stuff to go with me, and hurried too. I need some time alone so I can think for myself. But someone caught up to me before I took a step further out the classroom. Isogai...

"Hey, can I come with you?"
Isogai asked softly. I nodded, and also shook my head in nervousness, which made him confused and tilt his head with an eyebrow raised. I backed away slowly, and smiled twitching a bit.

"I-ISOGAI-san!! I-- uhh-- you can't!-- you see-- I-I need to-- uhh, BYE!!!"
I stammered rapidly as I spoke before running away from his sight, and going to a nearby corner, away from people. For a while... ah! I know...

Isogai's P.O.V.

I looked blankly, and blinked a couple of times. Maehara suddenly ran away, from me even. Did I do something wrong? Maybe I said something to embarrass him at any point? I hope not, but to make sure of it, I'll apologize to him, if in any case I see him along.

I grabbed my stuff and rushed a bit, I was really hungry and I AM poor. Which I pretty much hate because sometimes I starve myself to save money. But thanks to Maehara-san, I can eat at least everytime because he shares his food with me.

I'm pretty... lucky I guess, being with him and all. To tell you something, I might have... a little... crush on him...well, not little, but ever since we became really close with each other. Don't react!!! It's really personal, well for me it is.

"Hey, Isogai-kun. What's up?"
A short bluenette appeared before me and greeted me softly, with the redhead and dark bluenette standing beside him. It was Nagisa, Karma and Sugino. It seemed that they were gonna go out to the fields, but I didn't ask.

"Oh, hey guys. Have you seen Maehara anywhere? He ran off suddenly..."
I told them. They motioned a no, and Sugino smiled suddenly. I raised a brow in a confused way and he snickered a bit, covering his mouth with his hand.

"Don't you know, dude? He l--"
Sugino started talking, but got cut off by Karma. He covered Sugino's mouth with a calm smile, like nothing happened. Well I'm too hungry to ask anymore stuff. Same as me, they left and went outside.

I sighed heavily, and went over to my locker first. As I opened my locker door, I saw a piece of paper that is folded into a little part. I opened it and read it of course.

The letter read...

Heyo, Isogai! Sorry I was a bit of a hurry earlier, I needed to do something. But now I'm not! Could you come to the forest? I'll meet you by the entrance, at... maybe lunch time? Yeah, anyways, I hope you'll make it.

He, wants me to meet him?
P R I V A T E L Y??? Why? I mean, I noticed that he doesn't tease me or insult me anymore. He's always by my side, everytime, except... well, today. He also wraps his arm around my shoulder usually, does that mean anything?
I hope I can get these answers when we meet up later on.

Hiroto's P.O.V.

I went to the forest entrance and started to wait for Isogai to show up. I really became impatient too, becuse he's still not here. I feel like I want to drag him out here.

I wanted to talk to him, about something. Really, really important. You'll know once he gets here. I think I know why I get butterflies, and it's because...

"I'm here!"
Isogai said as he arrived, panting a bit. He looked tired, good thing we're only gonna have a walk. Anyways, he looks... cute... panting like a child. He looked at me with one eye and smiled. I looked away in return.

"Oh, good. C'mon, I really need to tell you something... follow me."
I told him. He followed as we both went through the forest floor, until we got into the very center of this green crowded field. He looked aroumd the surroundings first, then sat down looking at me. I sat down, since we were next to a tree, we leaned on a tree which was giving us its most shade and cooling shadow.

"So what is it that you wanted to tell me?"
Isogai asked me. My eyes widened a bit, and looked away as I felt my face flush with a crimson color.

"W-Well, you see... I--!!?"
I stuttered as I was about to tell him, my... feeling toward him but he suddenly hugged me tightly. I blushed even more.

"I think I already know what you're about to say, Maehara-san..."
Isogai told me, as we both released from the warm embrace. I was shocked, like, did he knew that... I like him? I mean I've been hiding this and preventing myself to show him too much interest in him, and... I just can't believe how oblivious I was.

"So you..."
"Yup. I like you... for a long time too."
He continued my sentence . I smiled joyfully, as I heard those words. He smiled back, and we just laid on the grass, talking and laughing as we both spend the rest of the day with each other.
