Riley and Maya sat there with nothing to say. Riley had been keeping a big secret from Maya since Texas. Riley told Lucas that she liked him as a brother, instead of liking him as a boyfriend ever since she figured out that Maya liked Lucas. She also realized Maya stepped back this whole time even thought she liked him. So, Riley thought that the mature thing to do would be to step back for Maya because she wanted her to be happy.
"Hey Riles". Maya said softly. "Yes Peaches". Riley said. "Why would you hide a big secret like this from me?" Maya said. "Because I wanted you to be happy and you wanted ,me to be happy when stepped back for me." Small, hot tears rolled down her face. "Maya you're my sister and sisters make sacrifices for each other." Riles I get what your saying but I need to talk to Lucas anyway at school that's what he said he wanted after New Years". Maya added. "Well I just want to say that one silly boy that we both like can't get between the amazing friendship we have." Riley added to please Maya. "Your right Riles. Nobody should ever come between thunder and lightning." Maya said yelling in a sort of way. "Ring power!" They both said synchronized as ususal.
