*Sparks' POV*
It had been 5 days since Saturday, when Danae was taken. We successfully went grocery shopping and Charlie was slightly better. My job was to wait one street down from Paige's new school in the van with Charlie. If anything happened to Paige we would see it and help her. We also took the one of three cellphones we owned. I only had enough supplies to make 3 phones, 10 earpeices and one van untrackable, without drawing attention to ourselfs. I would be able to buy more, but Charlie said we could only use the money that we needed. I didn't actually know why we kept stealing if we could spend the money, but I guess it was fun to the others. We could probably even buy a better hideout then the warehouse. The 'warehouse' used to be an old motel, but we tore out a bunch of the rooms to make a huge welding room and I renovated the rest. We call it a warehouse because then it's less tracable if someone over hears. I sat in shotgun, twirling my fire dyed hair on my finger. This is so boring! I leaned the chair back and stared at the forever empty street.
"You see anything?" I asked, Charlie sat in the drivers seat with binoculars. His shaggy brown hair moving slightly as wind came in through the slightly open window. He refused to close it when he was in the van, which wasn't a great way to stay in hiding but he wouldn't touch the van without a window open.
"No, same answer as five minutes ago." He replied. Annoyed with my impatience.
"I'm bored. Wanna play cards?" He looked at me with a 'do you really have to ask' look and sighed. I pulled out my deck of cards. We were the only two good card players in the group, other than Sam, who was the master of any kind of card game. Charlie put down the binoculars and climbed through the curtain into the back of the van, I followed close behind.
"If anything happens to Paige, it's your fault!" He said jokingly. I gently punched his arm and began dealing. I started thinking about what had happened in the past two weeks. I had been trying to ignore it but the more I thought about it, the more I missed him. If anything happens to Paige... It would be my fault. I was the one who brought Paige to the warehouse. If she was taken, it would be my fault. When we attended the all girls school together, she was like family. She was 3 years younger then me, but I loved her like a sister. The others asked for a driver and I got them one. I couldn't loose her too. Then I thought of him. Sam. I love him so much, and Danae looks so much like him... she was all I had left and then she walked away. I had a feeling in my gut that he wasn't dead, but if I was wrong and he was dead like the others thought... I just need to hope for the best.
*Paige's POV*
I walked down the main hallway on the way to math, other students looking at me and smiling. You could consider me popular at this sorry excuse of a school. I grudgingly smiled and waved in response, my high-ponytail whacking my head with every step. My pink sparkly cowboy boots scratched my calves, the pink and white dress had itchy mesh under the skirt to make it poofy. I hated this outfit. I hated acting like the sweet Texas transfer student, Marie Seddler. I hated this school and all of the people in it! The only reason I went here was because I wanted to get at least my high school diploma, and this was the least likely school for me to get caught. I was the first member of the group to get past 11th grade, other then Charlie and I was determined to graduate, no matter what!
"Hey Marie!" My 'best friend' Gina ran to my side. I switched on my awful Southern accent.
"Gina! So good to see you! What's up?" She looked at me happily, bouncing as we walked. I held back from rolling my eyes. She was way to enthusiastic.
"Have you met the new kid yet? He's, like, super cute!" Her high heels clicked loudly with each step, her purse almost slapping me in the face when she brought up the new kid. This girl talked way to much with her hands.
