"Hello. Sleepy head. It's time to get up,"
Were the words I was woken up to. James wanted to wake me up quietly and in a peaceful way, but he startled me instead. I woke up with a little jump.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." James said with a quiet tone.
"No its fine.... I-I usually wake up being startled." I replied.
"Get dressed. I'm taking you out for breakfast." He said to me while handing me, that I was assuming, my clothes that he cleaned for me.

We walked into Ross's Diner and we sat down in the same old booth that we always would sit in. I hoped that no one would recognize me bu-
"Hi-a Rav! What brings you back to town?" Said the waitress.... "Oh..uh...just... A visit," I blurted out.
"Good to see you back." She replied with a smile, then walked away. Great... one day in and already recognized.

She came back to take our order. I got a burger with fries, and James got the same.
"It's been a long time since I had a good burger. I kinda missed it," I said with a smile.
"Well you can't beat Ross's burgers. Best in all of Kansas!" He replied.

When we we're eating some reason I could only think about one thing...the murders that were happening around town. Maybe I should ask him about it.
"So James. Tell me more about these murders that have been going on, do you have any idea what kind of deaths they were...animal or human cause?" I said with a little smirk on my face. Must have been a bad choice to ask him. His face had a look of discontent.
"... I-I don't know what's going on around here, lets drop it okay?" James said to me with anger.
I looked down at my plate. I got a little upset, but I didn't want him to realize it. So I responded with a small hint of understanding.
"Okay then. I know your not saying something to me. The whole people getting murdered in your town is apparently a touchy subject with you at the moment. I'll respect your decision."
He grinned at me.

Some time passed and right before James was going to pay the bill, two men walked in. Both in suits and ties.
One had short brown hair, the other was almost a few inches taller and also had brown hair but his was longer. They seemed relatively attractive.

They proceeded to walk over to the waitress who took our order from before. They both pulled out what looked to be badges. They started talking to her and seemed to be asking her questions. I couldn't really hear what they were saying...maybe it had to do with the murders. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them, I don't know why. After what seemed five minutes of talking to her, the two men were about to leave. As they were walking by our table the taller one looked at me. His eyes smiled at me....then I realized that I was still staring at them. Not even intentionally.

"Rav?...Raven?....RAVEN?!" James blurted out to get my attention.
"Oh sorry. Did you say something?"
I replied.
"Am I missing something here? Do you know them?" James asked with some jealousy in his voice.
"No no. I've never met them before..." I replied hesitantly. But I wish I did know them. I looked out the window to see where they were. The one with the shorter hair was getting in the driver's seat of a nice looking antique car. The other was getting into the passenger seat of it too. They pulled out and drove away.
"James you're a guy, and you know car stuff. What kind of car was that? You know, the one that just drove away?" I said to James with persistence. He looked at me as if he was accepting a challenge. He grinned and said
"Well the car is a Chevy...I believe Impala...and by the look of it I would say 68 but the roar of that engine its definitely a 67."
I was definitely impressed with how he knew that. It's like every guy knows every car in the whole world. A 67 Chevy Impala, interesting.

The waitress came over to our table so we could actually pay the bill this time. I wanted to know why they came here.
"Who were those men that came in? What were they asking you?" I said to her with a sense of wanting in my voice.
"Oh just some FBI agents asking around about..." Her voice got quiet now. " the murders."
I looked down and said "Oh yeah."
"I think we're all set here." James said with frustration.
"Well okay then here's your bill have a great day kids." She replied trying to stay positive and hiding obvious irritation.
