Chapter 02: Dicey Duel

[The next day...]

Third Person's P.O.V

"Woah, woah, Ayuda!" Kaito quickly rushed to her side once he saw her face, "What's wrong?"

Ayuda blinked her eyes questioningly at the boy. She had just reached the meeting place where she and her teammates agreed to meet up. Kaito greeted her like this while Kazuki followed him from behind. She asked innocently, "W-why? What's wrong with me?"

Kaito leaned in closer to her face and spoke lowly, "It's just... you have black spots underneath your eyes. It's like... did you get enough sleep last night?"

The girl instantly remembered of what had happened last night. She fell asleep; her father came and splashed waters onto her body and face, and forced her to practice the three basic fire techniques in just one night. Of course, a girl like her couldn't master the three techniques in one night. So she had to pull an all-nighter; practicing the three techniques. She had just been scolded by her father early in the morning because she still hadn't mastered the three techniques yet.

She averted her gaze and sighed inwardly. There was no way for her to tell them what had happened last night. It's too embarrassing and it would bring down her family's reputation. So she lied, "I couldn't sleep last night..."

"Why?" queried Kazuki.

Ayuda answered hesitantly, "Maybe I was worrying too much... about the Chuunin Exam."

Kaito laughed out loud as he held her shoulder, "Relax, Ayuda! We still have two weeks before the Chuunin Exam started! We will have enough time to prepare ourselves! Plus, we're the mighty Team 5! There's no way we will be defeated by some lousy bunches of Genin!"

"Kaito, you shouldn't take it easy," another matured female voice came in, gaining their attentions. They looked up to see their teacher called Shiori. She continued, "The participants of the Chuunin Exam might not be as easy as you think they are. They could be Genin, but they have enough experiences in battle, unlike us. So, no matter who your opponents are, do not underestimate them."

"Yes, sensei," Ayuda, Kazuki, and Kaito chorused.

Shiori smiled at them and walked away saying, "Let's go. We have missions to do."

"Alright! Let's keep our shits together and do this!" Kazuki exclaimed while punching the air with his fist.

"Language," Kaito warned.

Five hours later, Team 5 got a permission to rest for the whole day by the Third Hokage. They had completed two D-rank missions and one C-rank mission in five hours.

They decided to have lunch together at a restaurant and practiced together afterwards. After having their lunches, they went to a training area where there are three logs standing in the clear field. They thought the place was unoccupied at the moment, but they were clearly wrong when they heard booming voices not far from them.

"That's it! I've had enough of you, Sasuke! Don't act that you are all cool and stuff like that!"

"Naruto, don't pick a fight with Sasuke! He's just naturally smarter than you!"

"Naturally?! I think he's showing off!"

Team 5 arrived on the scene and saw Naruto looked like he was about to jump on Sasuke but Sakura put him in a headlock. Sasuke looked up into the blue sky while sitting down next to Kakashi who read his favorite Icha Icha Paradise book. Sasuke's eyes shifted to Team 5 once he sensed their presences.

"Naruto!" Kaito called with a huge smile.

"Sakura!" Kazuki called excitedly as well as they both ran towards Team 7.
