Adian strode into his office, his mind set, on asking Emma out on a date. She was completely immersed in her work, not realising that he was staring at her with heat in his grey eyes.

Her hairs were neatly tied in a bun but some rebellious tendrils were flirting with her heart shaped face.

Emma felt the change in the air and knew the reason for it is Adian.

She looked up and there was Adian leaning against the door frame. They both simply stared at each other for a while, Adian straightened and move towards her with a predatory gleam.

Emma started fidgeting in her chair, but they didn't break their eye contact. Adian came near her desk leaned towards her, putting his hands on the desk.

"I am not going to beat around the bush. I like you a lot and would like to go out with you on a date. Will go out with me?" He said with such arrogance believing that her answer is going to be yes.

Emma was a bit shocked with his straight forward question. But thousand thoughts were running through her mind. Can she really go out with him, she liked him, was even attracted to him. But what about the secrets between them. With all these secrets between them can she be with him with any consequences.

Adian thought he will get an immediate acceptance from her but he was some what stumped looking at the by play of emotions in her naked expressive eyes.

"You know it isn't that difficult to make a decision on going out on a date." He said with some disappointment, when he didn't get any response and straightened.

Emma cleared her throat and said "I don't think it would be morally right. I am sorry but I can't go out on a date with you"

He looked at her in disbelief.

"Are you seriously declining to date with me?"

"It's has got nothing to do with you Adian it just don't seem right to date a boss." She said urging him to understand. This seemed like a good excuse to decline him because she seriously didn't want to tell him that it's her guilty conscience urging her to decline.

"It has got nothing to do with you. I don't find this morally right. Hope you understand." She said in self righteousness.

"I never took you for a coward."

"I am not a coward" she replied vehemently. She was anything but a coward.

"Really if not a coward than what. Look straight into my eyes and tell me you don't feel this chemistry between us. If you do then I won't persist you but we both know that's not the issue here." He said trying to provoke her. Knowing that her personality couldn't accept the tag of  coward.

"I am not a coward and I am not attracted to you. I will prove this by going out with you. Just tell place and and time." She said sniffing her nose.

Adian bit his cheek not to show his smile, knowing that he won this round.

"I will prove you that you are attracted but not know and as far as time and place is concerned I'll text you. See you later get back to work." With this being said he walked to his office, not waiting for a reply.

Emma was left fuming at his arrogance. What does he think of himself, the arrogance of him calling me coward.

She was still mumbling and cursing Adian when Ethan came in office. He looked at her fuming form and knew something has happened because she is the most calm person he have ever met.

"Hey, what's up with you." He queried.

"Nothing, he is in, you can go to him" he smiled at her, she is the second person in his life who could brought a smile to his lips.

"Who said I came to meet him. I am here to have lunch with you, it's been a long time since we had one together" she gave him a yeah-right look.

"Look I will be fine in a minute, you know better than anyone that I don't stay angry for long." She tried to said with a smile.

That was true what Ethan has done he was sure she will never even see his face but she has not only forgave him but helped him along the way.

"Okay Em but today we will have dinner together and I don't want to her any argument. Is that clear?" She agreed with him and he went into Adian's office to work on the blasted deal from hell.

It was around five in the evening when Emma received a text from Adian.

Is today 8:00 pm fine with you?

Emma shook her head at the text she texted back.

Sorry I can't today.
Emma

She was about to kept her phone when it indicated another text message and it was again from him.

Why??

She typed back.

Because I am already going out for dinner today. Plz don't disturb me anymore I have got work to do.

Now he was irritating her. After an hour Adian came out of his office, he shut the door because Ethan was still there and he didn't want him to hear this conversation. If he did he knew he will never hear the end of it. A girl decking him, the most eligible bachelor in New York.

He quietly sat in front of her desk.

"May I know why you are backing out of your commitment." Emma sighed out at him.

"I am not backing out, it's just that I have promised someone else before you asked me. Set another day and I promise that I will go." She said sincerely trying to make him believe.

But Adian got jealous knowing that she is going out with someone else. He was never felt jealous but she manage to bring this new feeling in him and it disturb him deeply.

"May I know who is this that you are going out with." He didn't realise that he said this with possessiveness, which immediately hackled Emma.

"I don't think it's any of your business. You are just my boss, even though I have agreed to go out on a date it doesn't mean that you own me." She said with anger.

"I never indicated that I own you Emma. But I deserve to know because of whom you are ditching me." He got up in anger and ordered her rudely to get coffee for him and Ethan as it was her duty.

Ethan looked up at him from his paper work when he reentered and found him in a foul mood.

"What's up with you man, when you left this office you were absolutely fine. Who manage to put you in such a foul mood." He asked with amusement.

"I am not in a foul mood let's get this shit done."  He said and gave Ethan a look which clearly said to shut it.

Around seven in the evening they were done and Ethan left. After five minutes he came out and was shocked at first and then angry at what he saw in Emma's office. He didn't believe his eyes, never thought Emma could do this.
