Mason's P.O.V

I didn't know how I expected her to react, but my heart sank when she didn't reply right away. We sat in silence. All you could her was our breathing. Then she opened her mouth and muttered,

"I-I think I love you too." Then more surely and confidently, "I love you too." At this my heart soared when I heard her say that. I can swear at that moment I was the happiest man alive. I leaned down and kissed her again. She was mine, all mine and if anyone tried to take her from me, let's just say they wouldn't live to see the next sunrise.

It almost broke me when she pulled away from the kiss to breath. For the first time since I'd seen her, she smiled. It wasn't fake or a goofy smile. It was genuine.

Then I heard a sound like laughter coming from out in the hallway. I glanced out to find that thirty guys were watching us. Let them watch let them see how much I loved her. They whistled an whooted. I let the corners of my mouth lift into a smile.

"Watch this." I whispered to Cassy. I let go of here and stormed out into the hallway with a fake angry look on my face.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS LOOKING AT? HUH?! ANSWER ME!" All of the men leaped back and half of them muttered, "Sorry!" I bursted out laughing. I couldn't stop! It was so hilarious. When I finally calmed down I looked at them again. Their faces were in an horrified expression and thus sent me off into another fit of laughter. Then I saw Jeremy burst through the crowd. There was a scowl on his face and he grabbed me by the shoulders and dragged me into a nearby office on that floor.

"What the hell are you doing?" He hissed.

"Can't a guy make a joke?" I retorted.

"Not in this case." It was only then I noticed the dead seriousness in his eyes. There was fury I had never seen before.

"What's going on?" I said suddenly matching the same seriousness as Jeremy.

"'Los Muertos' have declared war on us."

"WHAT?!" I suddenly became enraged. They had the nerve to challenge us. Really?! "They'll go for our weaknesses. It's a good thing we don't have very many."

Jeremy nodded then said, "You're right but now we have one more." I realized who he was talking about.

"We have to get her far away from here and have someone keep an eye on her."

"I've already arranged for plane tickets to go Florida." Jeremy handed me to first class Florida airline tickets. I nodded and said, "I'll go get her ready to leave first thing tomorrow morning."

I ran out of the room and back to Cassy's room. "Get everything you may need for a three day trip. I'll get you more things when we get where we're going." She didn't even ask me any questions just nodded and began throwing clothes onto the bed. I ran out really quick and grabbed a suitcase. I went back to her room and started stuffing stuff into the small suitcase.

After we finished, she looked at me place her hands on my chest and said, "Mason, I'm scared." I drew her in and pet her head. "I know baby I know. I won't let anything happen to you. I swear."
Little did I know that would be a promise I couldn't keep.

We span the rest of the afternoon in silence. When night fell I lifted Cassy into the bed and held her.

In the morning we drove to the airport. Jasper, one of my men, was coming with us. He would take care of Cassy while I stayed behind and fought this war.

It was almost time for the plane to leave when Cassy wrapped her arms around me and whispered I'm my ear, "Don't get hurt." I nodded and quickly shook my head when I felt tears forming in my eyes. No! I wouldn't cry in front of her and Jasper.

"I'll try my best baby." I pulled her in and kissed her. "Until we meat again."

With that I let her and Jasper go to their plane and I watched them until the disappeared down the hallway. I had a new motive for living now. Her name was Cassy. I wouldn't let her down. I would pick her up in Florida a week from now.

All I had to was make it through hell and back. Easy right?
