"You didn't have to take it out on him!" Maggie yelled.

"That was my dad! You should know the feeling!" Ellie screamed back.

Both of the girls' voices were hoarse from screaming at each other.

"Glenn saved your life, you ungrateful bitch!"

"I'm ungrateful? You didn't seem grateful when I took the heat off you!"

"What are you talking about?" Maggie snapped.

"Fucking Woodbury, dipshit! You didn't exactly thank me after I saved you from getting..." Ellie couldn't say the word. "Oh, you know what I'm talking about!"

Ellie stomped away.

"Wow, the cat fights are on." Merle chuckled from his cell.

"Shut up, Merle, you ass." Ellie growled.

"This place is crumblin', girl," he said, "I have no idea what my baby brother sees in y'all."

"We were going fine until you came along and fucked it all up!"

"It was gonna happen sooner or later."

She made a noise of frustration before marching up to her dad.

"Why is he here again?" She demanded.

He sighed. "Because Daryl wants him to be and Daryl is a valued member of the group."

"I know he is. Just don't expect us to treat Merle like one, because he is practically the enemy!" Ellie hissed between her teeth.

"I wasn't going to ask that of any of you. Ellie, why are you acting like this? I heard what happened yesterday, with Glenn," he said in a hushed voice.

"Why am I acting different? What about you dad? Yesterday by the fence. Ring any bells?" She replied angrily.

"That was different-"

"No it wasn't!" She cut him off, "face it dad, there's something up with you and you know it!"

She stormed off again, sick of everyone. She wanted to go to the guard tower but no one was allowed outside because it was too dangerous. Of course it is, she thought, there is a freaking psychopath outside.

Another fight broke out about an hour later. Hershel thought they should leave. Ellie, who was sick of yelling, simply growled, "we can't leave now."

She walked away. Up to her cell that she hadn't been in for a while as she didn't sleep last night. She wanted to walk through the prison but was afraid she'd get lost because it was so big.

Maggie came in when Ellie was drifting off to sleep.

"I'm sorry, Ellie," she said softly.

"It's ok," Ellie replied, "you were standing up for Glenn I get that. It used to be my job before we met you guys."

Maggie smiled to herself, "someone has to."

Ellie thought about back at the camp in Atlanta. When Glenn and her were friends and Andrea... She shook the thought away. Andrea was alive but she wasn't here, so it didn't feel any different.

"Thank you," Maggie said in the same soft voice, "if it wasn't for you he would have- well, you know. I don't think I could take that. You're not a bitch, Ellie. I didn't mean that. You're more like a best friend to me."

"You are too. I'm glad Glenn has you. You're not a dipshit, either." Ellie grinned a small grin, "in fact, you nearly took my head off once or twice yesterday."
