Sitting on the edge of my bed thinking about how I would be able to pay next month's rent was stressing me out. I was in great of luck when my grandmother said that she would pay for my rent when I got out of college and after I told her that I refused to move back to Africa because of my parents not excepting my dream. She respected my wishes that's why I love her so much. When I heard that she passed away from Breast cancer 2 weeks ago I was in a total wreck.

I had no idea how I would make it being alone and no one to talk to. My grandmama was my bestfriend I told her everything she was even here when I graduated and received both my masters and bachelors in criminal justice. She was with me the whole way.

Now here I am stuck in Phoenix, Arizona alone and jobless. I've been on the hunt for a job every since the day after I graduated and I've yet to have any luck.

I've kept in touch with a few of my pasted professors due to the fact that I had grown such a great bond with them. They do know how much I've been searching for a job and they have tried to help me several of times but I declined because I didn't want to feel like a charity case, but I'm quickly rethinking that.

Getting up walking over to my cat pebbles she looked to calm and peaceful some thing I wish I could be.

 Right before I decided to go out to take a walk in the park for some fresh air my phone started ringing.

It was an unknown caller I usually don't answer unknown numbers but at this point it's whatever.

"Hello?"I answered.

"Hello is this the Parks residence?"A man asked me.

"Um...Yes May I ask who is calling?"I asked becoming nervous.

"Sure I am the Assistant Chief over the Special Investigation Division at New York Police Department and I am calling you to tell you that we would like to interview you for a Level 2 position and in order to qualify for the interview you will have to take the New York Bar Exam and have to get at least a 730 to be eligible for the interview."The man said which left me speechless I could not believe that a random man was calling me and offering me my dream job is this real God? I had to pinch myself.

But wait how did he find me and yet how will I get there?!

"That sounds amazing sir and I really appreciate the offer but I have no way of getting out to New York."I said a little bit discouraged.

"No need to worry Ms.Parks we already sent you a ticket and it should be arriving within a day or two and also we will have a hotel for you to stay in as well during the interview process."That right there sent me over the hills I almost dropped the phone.

"Hello....Hello are you still there?"I heard him ask.

"Oh yes sir I'm so sorry I'm just in so much shock right now...May I ask you how did you find me?"I asked curious at how did all of this happen.

"Oh well my good friend Dr.May referred you to me she always exclaimed to me how you were an outstanding student and you were top in your class."

"Wow thank you so much Mr..."I said seeing if he will say his name.

"Mr.Dean."He said.

"Well thank you so much Mr.Dean I will be looking forward to seeing you."I said.

"We will to Ms.Parks."And with that he hung up.

Right then and there I started to scream and jumping all around the room.

But then I stopped thinking about my grandmother.

She told me over and over that something good was destined for me in the future and it would be something I've always wanted and she was right.

I just wished she was here to share the moment but I know she will be looking down at me smiling.
